The TASCAM Series 208i USB audio interface packs an impressive amount of connectivity into a compact and rugged desktop format. Ultra-HDDA mic preamps capture detailed nuances

The Series 208i interface employs TASCAM's Ultra-High Definition Discrete Architecture (HDDA) mic preamp design that delivers audio with extremely low self noise to capture every detail of your musical performances. Each channel also features a TRS jack with switchable line/instrument-level operation, so you can easily track keyboards, guitar, bass, and other instruments alongside your microphones.

Built with mobile recording in mind

Trouble Free Windows Interface

Tascam interfaces aren't often talked about, but for recording on Windows, they are trouble free with super low latency. I tried a couple of other brands on some big projects in Studio One and they would crackle and pop at the highest buffer settings. The Series 208i handled them like a champ and with a smaller buffer. It can do very low latency as well. Studio One at 96KHz often reports a latency a of less then 2ms. The one area where the interface could be better is the headphone amp. It gets a little noisy when you turn it up. Overall though, if you are on Windows and don't want technical trouble or pops and clicks interrupting you creative flow, Tascam is the way to go.

I’ve Been Using it for Over a Year.

It's great! Most things work with ease, just reference the manual and update the firmware, then you'll be sailing. I dig the onboard DSP for rehearsing and the expandable inputs for recording drums. I was able to get an older focusrite octopre used for cheap and it linked up no problem!

The midi in/out was also something I didn't realize I'd love until I needed it. This will allow you to use any keyboard with midi compatibility to control your DAW and software instruments. You can easily save thousands by purchasing an older keyboard with midi out. It allowed me to get a hammer action piano with a beautiful keybed for less than $300 with all the fixings. As a bonus it came with sounds built in!

So yeah, I like this interface a lot. It's got wide "bookends" for your studio as it grows. Is it the best interface ever? No. It's probably not billion dollar studio quality, and the headphone amps are outperformed by the one on my Mac studio. However, the Mac studio's headphone output is exceptional and the tascam preamp quality is still very very good!

It's insanely affordable. You really can't go wrong.

As a PC User This interface is beyond satisfactory

I have had this Tascam Audio Interface for well over 6 months now and must say I am more than satisfied with the product. I originally bought a Universal Audio Apollo before I had seen all of the reviews of how they are not friendly with PC and are pretty much only geared towards Mac use so I was quickly in the market for a replacement. This one showed up as good for USB/PC and online reviews were solid. After being able to use it for 6 months now, I am extremely satisfied. I do not use any of the software that came with it since I had a lot of better programs that did the same thing so I can't speak to the quality of those programs but I have used it for producing as well as DJ'ing with a Traktor Kontrol S4 and rarely ever experience any clipping and if I do then I definitely know I have something set too high. I would definitely recommend this to anybody ranging from experienced producer/artist to a beginner. The setup was insanely simple like a true plug and play.

Works Great!

Very much plug and play. I had no problems setting it up with my computer and DAW. Had it working within 15 minutes of plugging it in. The onboard mixing tools and effect plugins are really cool as well however I don't use that much. It's exactly what's advertised. Well done Tascam!

Solid interface - No complaints

I took a gamble on this one and I am not disappointed. Setup is simple, works perfectly with Cubase, no latency, and every feature you could need in an interface. Nice tabletop design keeps rack space free for other signal processing units.
