True 12-string Tonality from Fender

Complete with a collection of essential hardware additions, a sightly Newporter body style, and a vintage-inspired "hockey stick" headstock, the Fender Villager 12-string acoustic-electric guitar is no dime a dozen. You'll find more than enough strength within this guitar's delicate tonewood selection and Fishman electronics system to cover any venue with supreme harmonic wash. It's also extremely easy to navigate, thanks to the smooth-as-silk satin-finished nato neck and supple walnut fingerboard. Complimentary fittings such as vintage-style tuning machines, a 3-ply tortoiseshell pickguard, and a Graph Tech NuBone nut add value and utility among the Villager's most important features. Topped off with an extremely economic price point, the Villager is a ripe tonal contender among a sea of 12-string instruments.

Powerful 12-string timbre

Fender took no shortcuts when planning the Villager’s tonewood design. Topped with solid Sitka spruce, this formidable 12-string is known for its wieldy projection and balanced sonics. When paired with the guitar’s sapele back and sides, the Villager presents a powerful and flexible tonal palette with a hint of warmth in the lower register. The resulting sound is corralled by the instrument’s forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing pattern, allowing your notes to ring with unparalleled authenticity. Sweetwater guitarists agree: if sonorous acoustic dynamics are what you’re after, the Villager is sure to satisfy.

A step above traditional utility

Given a collection of meticulously set nickel hardware and vintage-style tuning machines, the Villager 12-string can maneuver any performance or recording session with ease. Speaking of which, the Villager's satin-finished slim "C" style neck is a dream to drive, offering incredible comfort and movement along all 20 frets. Also onboard is a Modern Viking bridge and Graph Tech NuBone nut, granting extra authenticity and tuning stability on its own.

Performance-ready Fishman preamp system

The Villager’s onboard Fishman Flex pickup system offers stage-worthy projection of your sound within minutes. Volume and tone knobs are available for immediate adjustment, making it a cinch to pinpoint the exact tone you’re looking for. Likewise, the Push Tone knob for phase control offers a shortcut to supreme bass response when required.

Fender Villager 12-string Acoustic-electric Features:

  • 12-string acoustic-electric in a proprietary Fender Newporter body style
  • Solid Sitka spruce top generates powerful, balanced tones with an ample amount of flexiblility
  • Sapele back and sides provide warm undertones with significant sustain in the lower register
  • Forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing pattern carries vibrations easier along the bridge for enhanced vibration and projection
  • Active Fishman Flex electronics system keeps your instrument primed for high-performance stage use
  • Remarkably smooth satin-finished nato neck with slim “C” profile keeps movements swift and precise
  • 12-inch radius walnut fingerboard with white dot inlays
  • Onboard Modern Viking bridge retains authentic string movement
  • Vintage-inspired “hockey stick” headstock
  • Graph Tech NuBone nut and vintage-style tuning machines ensure maximum intonation stability
  • Complementary nickel hardware and 3-ply tortoiseshell pickguard

Flawless
You won't be disappointed
Great

I got this it's amazing. Great acoustically, but really shines plugged in with the Fishman controls through my thr5.

Music background: Studio musician. Been playing guitar for 30 years.
Very happy with this Villager version

I had an original Villager in 1967 that I liked but had problems with the bolt on neck. It was on consignment at a music store where it was stolen in 1970, so I got the insurance money. I replaced it with a brand new 1969 Martin D12-35 Brazilian I kept until I sold it about three years ago. In 2010 Fender came out with the Villager SCE that I bought but I was never crazy about even though it had a set neck. I sold the SCE and two weeks ago got the current Villager model from Sweetwater, and I love it. It sounds full and rich, has great action and was set up perfectly. It fits tightly in my Martin Geib case and is a joy to play. Well worth $ in my opinion. Thanks again to my rep Austin for arranging a Saturday delivery for me. I'm back in the 60s and very happy!!!
