Comfort and Elegance Meets Tone and Affordability

The Washburn WCG25SCE Comfort Select Grand Auditorium acoustic guitar sports unique mahogany elbow comfort binding on the lower bout, giving you an amazingly comfortable playing experience. This beautifully appointed guitar rocks big, balanced tone, courtesy of its classic spruce/pau ferro tonewood combo. And its Fishman Presys+ electronics deliver that same great tone onstage. The WCG25SCE has such fine details as a mahogany/maple body and headstock binding as well as a bookmatched pau ferro back with a maple/mahogany/maple strip. If you want smooth playability and rich, full-bodied tone in an elegant, affordable package, Sweetwater has your axe: the Washburn WCG25SCE.

Fishman Presys+ pickup system delivers natural amplified sound

With the Fishman Presys+ pickup system in your guitar, you'll have amazing plugged-in tone plus exceptional tone shaping. There are bass, mid, and treble tone controls, so you can dial in your ideal sound. A notch filter helps eliminate the possibility of feedback while playing live. A brilliance control helps you cut through the mix, and the phase control helps solve phase problems when recording the Presys+ and a microphone at the same time. And to make sure you're always ready to play your best, there's a built-in tuner.

Washburn has been producing fine fretted instruments since 1883

With humble beginnings in Chicago that date back to the 1880s, Washburn is an American institution in musical instrument manufacturing. From guitars to mandolins, banjos, ukuleles, and more, Washburn has long been a recognized and cherished brand among musicians. Many of the biggest names in folk, blues, and rock 'n' roll have played these well-crafted, quality instruments. Washburn combines quality construction with premium materials to deliver an instrument that's ready to perform on any stage. What is Certified Open Box Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call "Certified Open Box" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

Certified Open Box (also known as a demo) means we’ve had it out of the box for our YouTube channel, displayed at events, tested in our studio, or maybe it was in a customer’s hands for a few days and isn’t ‘factory fresh’ as a result. Every Certified Open Box item we sell has Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty and has been tested and verified up to ‘new’ specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it’s in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Certified Open Box item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

What a beautifully made comfortable guitar. I love it!
Thank you Mike and to the person who did the setup work on my new guitar. It was such a joy to open the box this evening and find a perfectly set up guitar all ready to go. My arthritic old hands haven't been able to play so painlessly for a long time. I couldn't set my new guitar down till it was time for bed. I'm so glad I had the professional setup done. It was well worth the modest cost though I don't know how well it was set up from the factory. I'm glad I found an affordable guitar that was made to sound good, look good and be so darn comfortable to play and hold. As always, Sweetwater and team are the best. I'm particularly pleased with the bookmatched back of this guitar. I couldn't have picked out a more beautifully grained piece of wood myself being a woodworker all of my life. It's gorgeous. I can find nothing wrong with the fit, finish and tone of this instrument and am blown away at the price for such quality, beauty and playability. I live on a fixed income and believe I have gotten an exceptional value that I'll enjoy playing for a very long time. Sounds great plugged in too. Again, thank you and everyone at Sweetwater who helped make my dream come true.

Washburn Comfort G25SCE Acoustic-Electric
Wanting to purchase A good starter guitar for my granddaughter I contacted Gage at Sweetwater. After A few other recommendations I decided on the Washburn Comfort G25SE and man I am glad that I did. I waited 2 days after receiving it to open the box ( -5 degrees here) I was amazed by the quality and sound of this guitar. It plays better than some of my more expensive guitars. I might have to keep it for myself and buy her something else.

I usually play bass, but...
I started by playing guitar years ago. I put new strings on an old guitar and started playing again. Being out of practice, it didn't sound great. It also hurt my forearm where I rested it on the guitar. When I saw the Washburn with the comfort cut- out I thought it was what I needed. Well... I was right. My forearm is getting the break it needed.Being a novice player, this new guitar is a lot easier to play. It has a wide nut, so the strings are farther apart for my fat fingers. The sound I'm getting is instantly better. There are some other features I like. It has a built-in tuner. The fret markers are on the side of the neck, which is fine since I'm not looking at the guitar from the front. Anyway, so far I love it.

Now I know
I've only owned a handful of acoustics in my life, and none come close to how this guitar sounds. To me, this guitar is close to immaculate. The only quibble I have is no strap peg by the neck. I read some reviews on Amazon that complained of cheap tuning pegs. No such trouble here. Maybe they got theirs from a less than reputable supplier. It's hard to go wrong ordering from Sweetwater. I've been playing with the phosphor bronze strings that come with it, but plan to switch to 80/20s and see how it sounds. Have a feeling it will sound even better.
