An Acoustic Masterpiece Born of Craft and Vision
Elevating the company’s self-described crème de la crème instrument to its highest expression of beauty, this Larrivée OM-72 Presentation Series melds spotlight-ready visuals with the ever-versatile Orchestra Model body shape. Gracefully adorned with Vase and Vine Vintage fingerboard patterns and crowned by an ethereal Mermaid inlay on the headstock, this exceptional acoustic is a true testament to Wendy Larrivée’s inlay artistry. Likewise, the Sitka spruce top and rosewood back and sides were personally chosen, cut, and voiced by Jean and Matt Larrivée to ensure that this OM-72 sings to its full potential. Formed into an elegant OM-shaped body and supported by parabolic X-bracing, these top-tier tonewoods grant this OM-72 a full-bodied sound that’s rippling with overtones and perfectly balanced. Moreover, maple fingerboard binding, rosewood abalone body binding and purfling, and an abalone rosette add the final eye-catching touches to this exquisite acoustic guitar. The final creation is nothing short of an acoustic treasure, a true expression of Larrivée’s lutherie expertise.

Multigenerational inlay mastery
Larrivée’s sterling reputation for intricate inlay work stretches all the way back to the mid-1970s, when Jean Larrivée’s wife, Wendy, first began designing, cutting, and engraving the brand’s eye-catching adornments. A half-century later, Wendy’s old-world craftsmanship still graces the custom inlays found on the brand’s premier models. Today, Wendy’s process now incorporates CNC precision with the help of her son, Matt, ensuring that the distinctive designs found on your Larrivée’s headstock and fingerboard are the finest produced in the company’s storied history.

Tonewoods chosen, cut, and voiced by Jean and Matt Larrivée
This top-of-the-line Larrivée creation boasts tonewoods personally selected, matched, and voiced by Matt and Jean Larrivée. This father-and-son team has more than a century’s worth of luthier’s intuition between the two of them, and they put it to good use examining, flexing, and tapping each piece of timber in their collection until they find the perfect combination of tonewoods that sing in perfect sonic and aesthetic harmony.
For this OM-72, Matt and Jean selected a choice slab of Sitka spruce for the top, supported by their tried-and-trusted parabolic X-bracing. Sweetwater’s Guitar Shop Luthiers prize this tonewood for its incredible dynamic range, able to handle gentle fingerpicking and aggressive strumming with equal assurance, delivering a direct, punchy sound well suited to myriad playing styles. Paired with the powerful and overtone-dense sound of a rosewood body, this OM-72 resounds with a rich, dynamic response that’s sure to elevate any fingerstyle arrangement.
Larrivée: world-class craftsmanship
Founded in 1967 in Canada, Larrivée honed its vision and craft among the Sitka spruce forests of Vancouver. Eventually, the company moved not overseas but to California, where Larrivée still crafts guitars that emphasize fine tonewoods and premium aesthetics at player-friendly prices. Goals like “affordable luxury” and ethically sourced wood are anchored in real-world action — for example, how Larrivée relies on ethically sourced FSC woods. The company’s passion and appreciation for the natural beauty of our forests let players like you responsibly incorporate pieces of nature into your life in the form of a guitar.
