I'm not a professional but this guitar is super nice. I was thinking about if for a while. I decided to get it. I had them do the bone nut installation. I'm sure the synthetic would be fine. It plays so nice. The strings are close to the fret board with no buzz. I'm the guy, recording on his laptop, playing a bit of everything. So take my opinion as you will. You don't have to be a fan of Cobain to love this guitar. Although you probably are if you're looking at it. Shout out to my sales guy Victor. He's always wicked nice to me. I tend to text message him right away when a question pops in my head or I'm having a minor issue. Half the time I figure it out before he responds but he always helps me. I have to say I also like Sweetwater in general. They didn't have it in stock when I wanted it. I still just paid and waited. Sweetwater checks the equipment and is really easy to deal with. I just feel better about getting equipment here.

Great guitar overall , pickups sound great, feel heavy in the hand (9lbs) , jus get the guitar lol

Such an awesome guitar. Playability is on point, and the short scale was just what i needed. Theres so many good things i could say abt this, but here are the couple negatives. There's very few flaws on this guitar, and only one of them really bothers me.

The first flaw is that the middle position on the toggle sounds like it's only the neck pickup. Nbd to me, because i don't use middle positions often, but it'd be nice to have the option.

The second is a bigger issue to me, but if mostly comes down to personal preference. The nut wasn't slotted very wide, and i can't fit a set of 12s on it. Considering my squier affinity strat could, it's a pretty big issue to me.

I've been a right-handed player for over thirty years - looking for a learning challenge, I wanted a solid player - as well as a guitar with a sound currently not represented by a guitar in the studio racks. As a life long player, I don't mind the price tag, as long as the guitar's value meets the bill. Even if you're not the world's biggest Nirvana fan, this Fender Jag should rate fairly high on your acquisitions list: Alternate electronics configuration, hard case, artist/custom appointments - pretty much perfect setup right out of the box. A little play time to break it in, and you've got a solid gigging guitar. Recommended for lefty-players whether or not you're a Kurt Cobain/Nirvana fan - or looking for a short scale offset.

This guitar us amazing. Throw a ds1 in front if a twin verb and you have the tone of nirvana. Extremely comfortable. Even at the short scale. Could not be happier.
