A Signature Axe for Nita Strauss

The signature model of high-profile metal guitarist Nita Strauss, the Ibanez JIVA10 is sleek, aggressive, and built for speed. At the JIVA10's core is the combination of nyatoh topped with quilted maple. A maple/purpleheart neck and smooth ebony fingerboard complete this axe's flawless tonewood recipe. You can expect effortless playability, thanks to a 3-piece Nitro Wizard neck and Prestige fret-edge treatment. And you'll pummel your amp into submission with a multitude of aggressive tones, by way of a versatile HSH configuration of DiMarzio pickups. Complete with an Edge-Zero II tremolo and an eye-catching Beaten Path EKG-style fingerboard inlay, the JIVA10 is a serious sonic weapon.

Fast-playing Nitro Wizard neck and ebony fingerboard

The JIVA10's 3-piece maple/purpleheart neck features Ibanez's Nitro Wizard neck profile, which yields effortless access to this guitar's entire range. The feel of this neck is enhanced by Ibanez's Prestige fret-edge treatment, which rounds the fret ends more precisely than hand filing, supplying you with maximum playing comfort and long-term playability. Beyond that, the neck is capped with a luxurious bound ebony fingerboard, providing you with unbelievably smooth fretting.

Trio of DiMarzio pickups covers an expansive sonic range

There's no denying the massive range of tone the JIVA10's trio of DiMarzio pickups provides — a pair of custom Pandemonium humbuckers in the bridge and neck positions and a True Velvet single-coil in between, which offers up clean, punchy highs and mids. "I wanted my humbuckers to be as if an Evolution and a D Activator had a baby," Nita told Sweetwater. "And that’s exactly what the Pandemoniums are – thick, tight lows; punchy, open mids; crisp, smooth highs; plus great sustain and harmonics." Guitarists here at Sweetwater love this ultra-flexible pickup configuration.

Edge-Zero II tremolo delivers solid performance and stability

The Ibanez JIVA10's Edge-Zero II tremolo gives you the fast response and snap you need to pull off sharp bends and vibrato. The extreme stability of this knife-edge-style trem's stud lock function is also one of the many reasons it's a favorite among many of today's top players. If you're looking for a guitar that can stand up to long, aggressive playing sessions without losing its tuning, you're going to love the JIVA10.

Ibanez JIVA10 - A Surprisingly Amazing Guitar!!
A flawless Guitar straight out of the box. I tried it in a few of my smaller practice amps, it feels and sounds great, very fast & easy to play. I took it to practice and went through my Marshall 410H, I am very impressed with the pickups, they deliver a very full tone, perfect for the type of hard rock / 80s metal that I play.

I find the JIVA10 to deliver some great blues tones as well. It is a great guitar !!!
About the last review
The guy said the one that had the knob fall off right away. He said Shawty work by PRS. It came straight from the factories from PRS that way, so he doesn't blame Sweetwater. He blames them first of all it's an Ibanez guitar not PRS so I don't think PRS has anything to do with it either Probably Ibanez.
Awesome guitar AFTER a proper set up!
What the other reviewers are saying about the fret edges being sharp and unfinished feeling is true. Luckily, I have a fret file already so I finished them off. I cleaned up the neck, had to set the action, and do a truss rod adjustment. Two hours later and I love it. Plays and sounds fantastic. But for this price I shouldn't have to do all this set up, especially the frets. I do love the guitar now.
Disappointing to say the least!
Received my Jiva yesterday and I'll tell you the quality control on this instrument is subpar. I own an S-series bought new in 1989 and there's no comparison! I own multiple Ibanez guitars: RG550 Genesis, 540S, 30th anniversary Jem and a Jem Jr and never had shotty fret work. The fret ends are sharp! shouldn't be that way from a $1600 guitar out of the box! Not only are the frets sharp they are gritty and unpolished. When performing bends it feels like sandpaper! Again this is a $1600 guitar. My $500 Jem Jr has never had sharp or sandpaper frets! The finish has flaws as well. It looks fabulous until you look at the details. The finish where the input jack is located is half finished and is bare wood in areas! There is actual sawdust on the surface as well as in the pickup routes! I've never had a guitar where I literally picked it up did a setup and 10 minutes later was ready to return! I'm definitely an Ibanez fan but this guitar was a true disappointment! Maybe I just got a poorly built one as my others have been great or has Ibanez quality gone downhill? On a good note love the pickups and the trem. The neck profile feels right at home and fast. Just feels unfinished! Will be returning to Sweetwater. Unsure if I'll give another one a shot and try an exchange or just return it.
Terrible quality for price
Well my wife got this for my daughter for her birthday. First impressions are not good. Knob fell off first thing. Fret ends are not smoothed out, very sharp and not acceptable on a "top of the line" guitar.Pickups were ok, tuners work. Not very impressed PRS. Don't recommend buying from PRS until they get their crap together. Sweetwater did a fine job, these are factory errors directly from the PRS factory so I put none of the blame on Sweetwater.
