A Modern Incarnation of Guild’s Famed Rock Machine
Recalling the company's solidbody electric guitars of decades past, the Guild Polara brandishes a familiar double-cut profile with slightly offset horns and a hand-filling Vintage Soft U-shaped neck. It sounds like its vintage predecessors as well, courtesy of a set of scorching-hot uncovered HB-2+ humbuckers. The Polara is a player’s dream; its 22-fret, 12.5-inch-radius Indian rosewood fingerboard is the perfect conduit for unleashing thunderous riffage, blistering leads, and all the other fleet-fingered fretwork in your 6-string repertoire. Guild’s Tune-o-matic bridge was tailor-made for palm muting, and the Rotomatic-style tuners ensure rock-solid stability in every musical situation. Rock-minded players searching for a vintage-style axe with lots of attitude can stop looking — the Guild Polara is ready and waiting to rock your world.
Based on a classic 1970s Guild solidbody
The Polara puts a modern spin on Guild’s 1970s-era models. Like its forerunners, this Polara is built around a solid mahogany body with an imposing offset design. Sweetwater guitarists find that the mahogany neck’s Vintage Soft U profile provides a slightly chunky yet eminently comfortable grip that is reminiscent of the Guilds of yesteryear. Lastly, it’s topped with an Indian rosewood fingerboard with a slick-playing 12.5-inch radius for maximum playing comfort.

Guild humbuckers pack serious heat
The Guild Polara comes equipped with a set of uncovered HB-2+ humbuckers. These Alnico V–fueled behemoths are teeming with rich, vintage-tinged tone, but with enough output to give your amplifier a serious kick in the teeth. Whether you’re aiming for articulate cleans or down-tuned sludge, HB-2+ humbuckers will deliver the goods, session after session and night after night. To top it off, the Polara includes Master Volume and Tone controls, supplying you with all the sonic versatility you could ask for.
Rock-solid hardware
When Guild designed the modern Polara, the company certainly didn’t skimp on the hardware. For starters, its Guild Tune-o-matic bridge yields outstanding intonation and playing comfort — especially if you have a penchant for palm-muted riffing. Its Rotomatic-style tuning machines ensure rock-solid stability, plus they look amazing!
