Star-forged Sonics and Interstellar Expression

Get ready to launch your sound to the stratosphere with the Schecter Stargazer 12, an interstellar instrument engineered for intergalactic 12-string performance, blending time-tested aesthetics with cutting-edge craftsmanship. This axe’s eye-catching aesthetics are paralleled by its powerful array of latent tone-crafting possibilities, armed with Schecter USA pickups that bring its tonewood triumvirate — mahogany, maple, and ebony — to life. Between the Stargazer 12’s sculpted cutaways and thin C-shape neck, Sweetwater’s gigging guitarists deliver a deluge of rocket-powered performances, night after night, with all the speed and comfort they need to extract the full force of its 22-fret spread. Are you ready for lift-off?

A triple-threat of tone crafting

Schecter’s luthiers pulled no punches in outfitting this Stargazer 12 with a formidable foundation to suit its expanded sonic range. Its mahogany body serves as this axe’s cornerstone, anchoring your tones in a harmonic-rich and well-balanced spread of blossoming overtones, tight mids, and plenty of headroom that gives your sound plenty of space to breathe. With its maple neck, warmth and brightness are imparted throughout the spectrum, with terrific note separation that keeps chords, leads, licks, and solos impeccably voiced. An ebony fretboard completes the tonewood triad, offering crystalline clarity and bell-like sustain, supporting all manners of compositional possibilities in every register.

Crafted by Schecter for aural excellence

To bring the Stargazer 12’s formidable foundations to life, Schecter built a voltaic suite of sonic sculpting capabilities. Its dyad of howling humbuckers comprises Schecter USA SuperRock Vintage pickups, providing both the neck- and bridge-mounted positions with electrifying Alnico V power. Each passive pickup features a dedicated volume control, while its tone knob is endowed with a push-pull coil split. Supplement the latter with the guitar’s 3-way toggle, and near-endless sonic tailoring is always on tap, right at the source.

Engineered for electrifying performances

This set-neck 12-string includes meticulously sculpted cutaways, body beveling, and neck heel, providing unfettered access to all 22 Jumbo frets that sprawl its 25.5-inch scale. Its 3-piece neck maximizes the guitar’s dimensional stability, amplifying its resistance to twisting or warping, in addition to being carved to a lightning-fast thin C-shaped neck that blends speed and comfort to support virtually any play style. Finally, a Graph Tech Black TUSQ XL nut, a TonePros locking bridge, and a set of TonePros M series tuners keep your sound locked in and buzz-free as you make your way across the fingerboard’s 14-inch radius.

Schecter Stargazer 12 Features:

  • Mahogany body provides a tonewood anchor of rich overtones, complex harmonics, and full-spectrum balance
  • Maple neck supplies brightness, warmth, and excellent note separation in every register
  • Ebony fingerboard means sonorous sustain and crystalline clarity for any performance
  • Schecter USA SuperRock Vintage humbuckers utilize Alnico V magnets for high-heat sound crafting and passive pliability
  • Per-pickup volume controls and push-pull soil-split tone knob are joined by a 3-way toggle for immense, onboard tone tailoring
  • Thin C neck profile blends speed and comfort to accommodate players of nearly any playstyle with ease
  • 3-piece neck amplifies tonal depth and increases resilience to twisting and warping
  • Set-neck design and sculpted cutaways provide seamless access to all 22 frets across its 14-in. fingerboard radius

Get it Plek'd
This is my third Schecter purchased new. My first two Schecters, an Omen Extreme 6-FR and an Omen Extreme 7-string both came with inspection stickers claiming they were "ready to play." Well, they weren't. I've got them playable, but I know they could be better.

Spotted the Stargazer while looking up lefty 12-string guitars. I liked the look of the body, but was wary that the guitar would be properly setup, but I added it to my wishlist anyway.

Looked at my wishlist the other week and saw it on sale, likely because lefty gear is hard to move. So I decided to order it, and added the Plek Pro service to see how much of a difference it would make, compared to my past Schecter purchases. Talked with Ken a few days later on how I wanted the guitar set up: low and clean action, D'Addario EXL-150s, standard tuning.

The guitar arrived a little out of tune, not a big deal really. Once I got it tuned up, I started playing a bit and the difference is significant. Intonation is spot on. Action feels great, chords fret really easy, everything sounds clean.

The guitar looks, plays and sounds great.

And the fret ends on the Stargazer feel like butter compared to my Omen Extreme 7, which could use some work.

Long story short, if you're serious about music and you're looking to buy a guitar on Sweetwater, get it Plek'd.

Now, to get my other Schecters Plek'd...
