Reviews

Incredible bass
I bought this bass used. I couldn't find one anywhere as they were backlogged for so long. A used one finally showed up so I jumped on it. I did not buy it from Sweetwater but would have. I wasn't sure they were ever going to make more. So, the experience of not buying from Sweetwater was not so good (GC). It was very sloppily packaged, it was dirty, whoever had it was a complete knucklehead and strung it completely wrong. I don't see how you could just abuse such as nice instrument. The bass was packaged upside down with the headstock pointing straight down with very little protection and got some damage. So, anyway, this is an incredible bass! The neck is perfection as far as I'm concerned, it has a warmth to it, the tone, electronics are top quality, not to mention how beautiful this bass is. Go with Sweetwater, avoid the nonsense, and ask for Nick Barton.
Impressed!
This is my first Schecter (long term Fender guy) and I am very impressed. The bass is warm to the touch and light in the hands. The neck is fast and supple. Tonally, there is a lot of variability, via the 2-band EQ, for a single pickup bass—this will easily serve as my "do-it-all" instrument. This Indonesia-made instrument easily stacks up with my USA-made models in terms of build quality, feel, and sound

I was initially unsure about the aesthetics of the guitar but, in person, the looks are actually quite subtle and refined. This is not some guitar that screams "metalhead." It really is an attractive piece that I am happy to display!
Worth the wait!
This was on back order for a long time. I never fancied a brown guitar of any kind, but there was just something about it, so I put in my order and the invoice sat about a year. I'd email my sales engineer Bob from time to time to check on it, with a few emails over the year it was on back order. I nearly gave up until I got the email I'd been waiting for, that there was one coming in and it was mine if I still wanted it. The price had gone up over that time but Bob was able to honor the Invoiced price. It was totally playable right out of the box, but a few months later I had it set up and put Black Beauty strings on it and not only does it look absolutely lovely, it plays like a dream and sounds fantastic! I'd hunted high and low for reviews on it while waiting for it and seen very few. This is my 5th Schecter and 3rd Schecter bass. I also have PT Van Nuys that is super dreamy as well. After selling off my P5 and my Ultrabass to play keyboards for the last 4 years, I'm thrilled to not only have a bass guitar again, but to finally have the P-4 Exotic! Thank you Bob, for your knowledge, expertise and communication. Cheers!!

Amazing. No other words
Ordered this bass immediately after seeing a photo of it released. I'm a sucker for the dark wood grains. The hardest decision I had was deciding if I wanted to stick with the P-bass or Jazz version. I stuck with the P after talking to the guys at sweet water. I'm glad I did.

This thing cuts through, and had absolutely amazing tone. Playing hard rock/metal, that tone and it's amazing low end are what I was looking for. It's louder than any of my other bass.

The look is unique, the maple neck feels perfect in my opinion. The fret work is sexy. The active eq is easy to adjust on the fly, thus far I prettymuch leave it neutral though.

If you're on the fence in this bass, get it. I've played fenders that haven't felt as well tuned as this schecter.

There was a minor shipping issue, however sweetwater made it right. I'll never buy an instrument from another retailer. Three bass guitars and my GK rig all through them, couldn't be happier with their sales and customer service teams.
Schecter P-4
Just got it today and couldn't be happier.Roasted maple neck is awesome, love the carve of it, thin but not too much. The EMG pickup sounds great and is silent.Ben Robinson is the best and Sweetwater's customer service is outstanding.Fender could not make this bass for this money,no upgrades needed.
