The Drawmer CMC3 Compact Monitor Controller ensures that you record what you hear. Nothing more or less. This is the cornerstone of great recordings. Equally at home in serious home studios as well as professional recording facilities, the CMC3 incorporates the feature sets of Drawmer's three most popular monitor controllers, giving you the renowned accurate and transparent audio quality of the MC2.1, the precision and control of the MC3.1, and the compact, low-profile form factor of the CMC2.
High-quality monitoring, invaluable mix-checking features
The CMC3 gives you the transparency of Drawmer's high-quality monitoring circuit plus a set of invaluable mix-checking features. You get balanced outputs for three pairs of speakers, plus a dedicated mono/subwoofer output. Individual L/R trims provide complete control over level matching, while timed relay protection on all speaker outputs prevent power up/down thumps. Two pair of headphone outs complete your monitoring package.
On the input side, the CMC3 provides four stereo inputs: one SPDIF 24-bit/192kHz digital input that uses the same DAC chipset as Drawmer's acclaimed MC3.1 monitor controller, two analog balanced 1/4" stereo inputs, and a front-panel 3.5mm Aux jack with variable level control for your smartphone or MP3 player. In addition, it's fitted with two pro-quality headphone outputs, each with a separate amplifier and level control, that offer the same superior audio quality and mix checking features that the CMC3 provides for speakers. Talkback is also included using the internal or an external microphone, with level control and audio routing to a dedicated mono output jack and headphones.
Unerring monitoring accuracy
It's versatile, intuitive, and easy-to-use, but above all else, the Drawmer CMC3 excels its unerring ability to faithfully reproduce what you've recorded — and what you're about to record. Monitoring accuracy seems like a no-brainer, but it's surprising how many recordings are made using compromised monitoring setups. And the results are usually not pretty. If you're in the dark about what you're "committing to tape," you're nowhere. Far better to invest in two or three pairs of reference-grade monitor speakers, an accurate subwoofer, one or two pairs of trustworthy headphones, and a serious monitor controller. You'll make better recordings.
A true engineers tool
In typical Drawmer fashion, CMC3 is built to be a true engineers tool. The active circuit was designed to faithfully reproduce the audio signal — while eliminating many of the problems that are caused by passive circuits. It also offers you a set of mix checking features that you won't find on most other controllers, such as individual left/right cuts, two separate headphone amplifiers, and a talkback facility.
