Reviews

Great uke for the $$
I've really enjoyed this ukulele. It hold up well with my dad's spruce and mahogany solid wood and has a really bright and sweet tone. It may not be for everyone, but I enjoy it. The tuners are not the best, but they work with a little looseness and skipping, which is to be expected on and instrument at this price point. If you tune up before you start playing I have had no problem with it going out of tune while playing, even for 45 min to an hour sessions of jamming and noodling around on it. Overall, I think this is a great ukulele to step up from the laminate, particle board, and plastic ukuleles that flood the market at the $ price points, and the price can't be beat! I'd take half a star away for the tuners, but then give it back for the value for the price, so it's a five star from me.
Music background: Guitar, ukulele, and mandolin primarily
Love this Uke
I have several other ukes made of different materials and of different tones. I have a soprano mahogany as well as a tenor mahogany. I play both of my tenors with a G it's amazing the difference in tone the two different woods have they are both rich but I really prefer the non-traditional bamboo, if you're looking for a new ukulele or a second third or even fourth ukulele, do not overlook this instrument it's a wonderful playing ukulele with beautiful tone and a richness that other tone woods may or may not have.
Music background: Guitars, ukulele, accordion, and clarinet. Spent many years in choir.
Amazing
Bought this for my oldest son Wesley Adam Wyrick. Here is what he said about it. Projection, tone and harmonics are top notch. Yes I love it . Well played Dad.
Music background: Been picking guitars since around 1974 and playing trumpet since 1968.
The Islands are calling......
I just checked and saw that I didn't give my review last year. I didn't know which uke to place this under because; yes, I bought all three sizes. If you want that true basic uke sound... these 3 have it!!! Such a pretty, bright, happy sound. After I got one, the other two had to follow. (Yes....I have the dreaded UAS.)
After a year of playing them.....I still love their sound! If you haven't tried one; you're missing out on something special. And I'm glad Kala didn't put anything fancy on it, because the bamboo is pretty enough without it. I enjoy the sound of these finger-picked too. ALOHA
(And I'll let Sweetwater figure out which of the 3 ukes , to put this under.)
