Incredibly Versatile Stereo Pair of Condenser Mics

Having used a matched stereo pair of Beyerdynamic MC 930 true condenser microphones for a variety of sessions, Sweetwater studio engineers have yet to encounter a source for which they aren’t applicable. First, the MC 930s have a wide 40Hz to 20kHz frequency response, so they aptly capture nearly the entire audio spectrum. Their cardioid pickup patterns make them a great choice for both studio and stage, and they’re usable on more sources than typical small-diaphragm condenser mics thanks to having -15dB pads and low-cut filters (both switchable). Their high-power outputs are also atypical for mics at this price point, and the MC 930s require very little amplification. Finally, the MC 930s are usable with 11-volt to 52-volt phantom power. It all equates to the MC 930s being mics you can go to with complete confidence for any upcoming session.

Thoughtful features for even more flexibility

The Beyerdynamic MC 930s retain built-in switchable -15dB pads and switchable -6dB-per-octave low-cut filters at 250Hz. These facets enable them to record louder instruments like snare drums and brass instruments. You can also capture more bass-heavy sound sources or simply mitigate lower frequency buildup due to boundary effect — a rarity among small-diaphragm condenser mics.

Beyerdynamic: quality you can count on

Beyerdynamic microphones are held in high esteem at Sweetwater due to the company's unwavering commitment to excellence since its founding in 1924. The MC 930 — like all Beyerdynamic products — is designed and crafted in Germany to the most stringent engineering standards, using only the highest-quality materials. Experience the Beyerdynamic difference: add an MC 930 to your mic locker today!

Beyerdynamic MC 930 True Condenser Microphone (Matched Stereo Pair) Features:

  • Small-diaphragm condenser mics that sound great on a wide variety of sound sources
  • Cardioid polar patterns with excellent off-axis rejection mean they can be used in the studio or onstage
  • Can be used on louder sound sources such as snare drums or brass instruments thanks to switchable -15dB pads
  • Frequency responses of 40Hz–20kHz provide accurate sound representation
  • Bass frequencies and boundary effect can be attenuated by switchable low-cut filters (-6dB/octave @ 250Hz)
  • Usable with 11V–52V phantom power
  • Very powerful outputs (30mV/Pa) for mics of their size and price point
  • Handmade in Heilbronn, Germany

Fantastic
A versatile set that I use all the time for overheads. They just sound good. I've used them for capturing organs, cello, acoustic guitar, violin, and a plethora of bluegrass instruments. Anywhere you'd want to use a SDC, these will give you consistently good results. You truly can't go wrong.

As far as I'm concerned, the nicest SDCs I've used. Typical Beyer quality. No fizzy hi end like other SDCs. Probably the only other mics in this class/price point would be the Neumann KM184s. The KM184s are great but a bit "brittle" sounding to my ears. The MC930s are very detailed and smooth. Very happy with my purchase. Cool shock mounts as well!
