A Legacy of Innovation
KEF is named after Kent Engineering and Foundry, a metalworking site in Maidstone, Kent, England. On those grounds, in October 1961, former BBC electrical engineer Raymond Cooke founded KEF. Cooke was propelled by a love of music and a refusal to compromise, and he leveraged technology at every turn to position KEF at the cutting edge of audio.
The result of Cooke’s hard work is a list of breakthroughs spanning more than half a century. Patents and academic papers alike testify to decades of consistent progress and technological advancements that created industry standards still followed today.
