Outstanding Microphone!

This lovely little device is everything I had hoped it would be and more. We bought it to be used for Sunday Bible class, as we're both Zooming and have in-person attendees. The folks at home were couldn't hear the participants in the room, so we decided to try this. I thought I would have to stay kind of close to the table -- still maintaining social distancing -- but I was wrong. This thing picks up everybody in the room, including the teacher! The only thing I wish were different is the length of the cord. It's only about 3ft in length. I could use at least twice that. But . . . I really am impressed with this little guy. MicW has really outdone themselves here. And the price was affordable, too! Thank you, Sweetwater!

Perhaps the wrong solution for my need

I had the need for a omni or half omni microphone to place on a long table that would pick up a discussion, and send the input to a sound reinforcement system (PA). I spoke to a Sweetwater sales expert who said this item would probably work properly with the inclusion of a cable that would connect via XLR connector.

When I received the pieces I was kind of bamboozled. The mic was much smaller than I expected ( I thought it would be about the size of a hockey puck. This was half that.) It had a very short wire with a TRRS 3.5mm plug. The second piece was a splitter cable with a 1/4 inch male TRRS connector going to two XLRs. So now I had to go to a competitor locally for an adapter.

Almost needless to say, none of this worked to my satisfaction, in no combination I could come up with. I tested the mic through my desktop computer, and it seemed to work, but need all the gain I could add. The documentation that came with it was scant, in poorly translated English. I assume this mic might be usable for a podcast recorded around a small table.

My conclusion was these items were not adequate to my need, and returned them for refund. Erik at Sweetwater was very cooperative. He was not the original rep I consulted. In this case, I believe I should have gone to a local shop and described what I needed better. One can always learn.
