Great Microphone and Headphones! Especially at an Entry Level Price Point.

I was gifted this set by my partner and I am blown away by the quality at this price. I was a little hesitant at first, because of reviews I had seen online about how much room noise the microphone picks up, but I consider it to be pretty minor honestly. There is a bit of handling noise, so I would absolutely recommend using a Shock Mount with it! The one criticism I have, which has nothing to do with quality of the mic or cans, is the stand it comes with is pretty useless. Even as a desktop stand for the microphone, if I used it then I would still have to hunch over to get quality audio with the mic. I attached it to the Rode PSA1 Boom Arm for ease-of-use and have 0 problems with it! I use it with the PodTrak-P4 for podcasting and creating videos, and I find the audio quality to be exactly what I'm looking for even with recording in a non-treated room. I would definitely recommend this to anyone getting into any sort of recording!

Great Set!

I am new to podcasting and bought two of these microphone packages so that I could do interviews with my new Zoom P4. The quality is great and the cost manageable. There are certainly more expensive choices, but for just start out in podcasting, I think this is an excellent choice and I'm glad I purchased it. Great mic and cans for the price.

I bought this kit for the mic, and figured the headphones would just be a bonus. First the mic... it's very good. Solidly built. Sounds great. With just a bit of EQ I can dial this mic in to make my voice sound really good. But it needs a shock mount, so plan on getting one if you don't already have a shock mount for a 2" diameter mic. The provided foam windscreen works really well at preventing plosives. It's "gain hungry" as most dynamic mics are. I use an EVO 4 and the +50db of gain is enough to power this mic, with a bit of boost in post. If your preamp has less gain, or does not produce clean enough gain, you might want to add a mic activator to your chain.

The little mic stand you get is pretty useless as a mic stand, but grab a five dollar 5/8" - 1/4-20 adapter and you can use it for something else, like a mini tripod for your camera, GoPro, or cell phone. The included cable is a bit short and seems to be of less than average quality.

The headphones are pretty good. Light and comfortable. Very flat and neutral for mixing, which I like, but if you use them for listening to music or watching videos you will probably want to use an EQ on your media player to give them a bit more presence. The headphone cable is very long, so great for studio recording if you like to stand while recording or need to be further away from your mixer or interface.
