The New-and-improved Xeno Bass Trombone
Musicians are always evolving to give their audience an unforgettable performance, and Yamaha understands this, which is why they continue to improve upon their most successful instruments, time and time again. The Yamaha YBL-835 Xeno professional bass trombone is a prime example of this. Designed with Tomer Maschkowski of the Deutsche Symphonie Orchester Berlin, the YBL-835 replaces the YBL-830 as an updated model with all the same high-performing features, as well as some unprecedented ones! You’ll get all the classic features associated with a Xeno bass trombone, including a 9.5-inch bell, a gold brass main tuning slide, and a sensible valve configuration. But Yamaha tells Sweetwater you’ll also benefit from new details like redesigned slide and mouthpiece receivers, a detachable hand rest, and upgraded lever action. Whatever the scenario, you can count on the Yamaha YBL-835 Xeno professional bass trombone to deliver the rich, muscular sound you crave.
Optimized resistance for tonal consistency
In order to deliver a premium playing experience, Yamaha made several refinements to previous Xeno bass trombone models. Such improvements include a reshaped slide receiver for enhanced response and reduced depth at the mouthpiece receiver for even more resonance starting at the mouthpiece. The cherry on top is a refined rotary valve port shape that permits a larger volume of air to pass through the valve tube, generating a powerful sound that commands attention.
Innovative hand rest design
The YBL-835 is the first custom bass trombone to incorporate a detachable hand rest to reduce hand and finger strain. Though it’s strategically placed to avoid interfering with your sound, Yamaha recognizes that not all players enjoy the feature. In those cases, players can easily remove the rest with the supplied hex wrench. So if you’re a player who prefers having the option to play with or without a rest, then choosing the YBL-835 is a no- brainer!
Yamaha Xeno series trombones
Yamaha believes that nothing should stand in the way of your tone. That’s why they developed their world-renowned Xeno series trombones. Pronounced “Zee-no,” these brass instruments are designed with players in mind. They offer outstanding power and projection with ample warmth for symphonic settings. More than 30 years in the making, Xeno trombones were designed with input from the world’s leading players, incorporating their experience and talent to produce outstanding instruments with the features and performance that pro-level players demand.
