Great for the money

I recently switched to an Otto Link Vintage HR mouthpiece, and my Rovner ligature was not a good fit for it. Coming from that Rovner Dark, the included cheap Otto Link ligature was very bright and buzzy and unpleasant to my ears. I decided to go on the hunt for similar cheap two-screw options to see if something else worked well. I bought this Yamaha and the similarly-priced Selmer 1715N, both two-screw designs, both cheap, although the Selmer is nickel and this one is brass. The Selmer sounds slightly better than this Yamaha, but it is a difficult fit on the Otto Link HR mouthpiece - it wants to ride up the mouthpiece, likely because the ligature is slightly too large (it's advertised as working for slim bari mouthpieces also). This Yamaha fits perfectly, and out of the three cheap ligatures, it is the second-best sounding behind the Selmer. So for ease of fit, response, and sound, this is my winner of the three 2-screw cheap ligatures under $. If you have a larger mouthpiece, maybe the Selmer would be better, as it has a slightly better sound.
