Wah with Plenty of Tonal Shaping

The Xotic Wah effects pedal is one of the most versatile wah pedals we've ever seen here at Sweetwater. Its circuit is closely based on the famous Clyde McCoy wah pedals made in Italy during the 1960s. But onboard controls for bias, Q, resonance, and frequency range allow you to dial in any shade of wah you desire. And the Xotic Wah boasts true bypass to not color your tone and to work wonderfully with your favorite fuzz pedals. In its factory setting, the Xotic Wah is a wonderful-sounding pedal, but its added controls will help you find your own signature sound.

Xotic: Boutique pedals, preamps, and more

Xotic was born in a small garage in Southern California in 1996 and quickly became known for high-quality, boutique bass guitars and bass preamps. These days, they've expanded the pedal line, crafting stompboxes that are played by some of the finest guitarists in the business. Their acclaimed AC Booster, RC Booster, and BB Preamp pedals remain some of their most popular pedals.

Xotic Wah Effects Pedal Features:
  • Highly tweakable wah pedal
  • Circuit based on the famous Italian-made Clyde McCoy wahs from the '60s
  • Controls for bias, Q, treble, and bass
  • Adjustable pedal tension
  • LED indicator lets you know when the effect is engaged
  • True bypass switching doesn't adversely affect your signal
  • Internal dip switches for resonance and frequency range
Find your ideal sound inside the Xotic Wah.

Reviews

Really good
Through my life for 40 years of guitar playing as an amateur guitarist, I have had older original crybaby's Vox, rebuilt kits. Fulltone Clyde, Vox Joe Satriani, Morley 20/20 , a big blue Tycobraythe hand made waw made by the same person Toni Iommi got his from out of Chicago, then I found this. What I'm running is a Fractal FX III through a Fryette LX II power amp in stereo mode through two 4X12 EVH cabinets. I think it's a bit important to mention this cause different gear can handle a bit different. Out of the box it has a nice strong signal. A main concern was too that when I create modeled presets sometime different gain stages can wash out a waw signal to where it sounds weak in signal strength. Not with this. This Waw has a nice strong tone all the way across it's range. After adjusting the controls I ended up pretty much keeping everything at 1200 I think. I took one of those rubber little round boots that come with MXR pedals that are supposed to stick on the bottom of an effect and I stuck it under this waw pedal's footboard lined up with the On / Off switch. Now I can turn it off or on with no effort at all.
I've done this with most Waw pedals I have owned as most of them can be a little hard to activate or shut off. My main concern was enough signal. Enough tone. It's perfect. This Waw's adjustments really reflect the ability to adjust the tone with a nice range more than any Waw I have ever owned. I used a 7/8s socket and slightly snugged the pedal motion right on the side to get it where I preferred feel wise. I've also used my expression pedal for the modeled waw but I prefer this by a long shot.
Music background: playing guitars for a long time.
Excellent Pedal
This is one of my favorite pedals I own! Sounds fantastic!
WHAt a Wah!
I apologize for the terrible pun in the title, but this honestly probably the best wah on the market. With all knobs at noon, it's perfect for me…but you're able to sculpt whatever tone you're looking for with this thing.
finally a wah that lives up to its billing
Love everything about this wah. I have had a love/hate relationship with wah pedals for awhile. Had a few of the leading brand and they could be a bit overwhelming sounding. The ability to dial in this wah in makes it fit a bunch of use cases. Although, I have to admit I stick pretty close to their clyde setting. The 3/4 size is perfect for a crowded pedalboard. It is big enough to be usable but small enough to fit in another pedal.
Fantastic Wah Pedal
This was great right out of the box!
Once again, my sales representative, Ryan Clapper made a spot on recommendation!
