The XK organs are heavy on their own. This bag is the minimum weight needed to still support and protect the instrument. I have a hard road case for the organ, but I don't use it because this thing does the trick nicely for all in-town gigs.

For a local move, especially when I need to transport my Hammond to church, Hammond's padded cases work very well. This case is well constructed, and it is heavy duty enough for protection of your investment from lightweight bumps and travel events. I will still use the ATA case for serious road gigs and long distance work. Money well spent!

This Gig Bag is just what I needed for my XK5, when I stack my keyboards I have to separate my Xk5 and lower keyboard so for transportation this bag fills the need. As so many times before Sweetwater had just what I needed. Good job Sweetwater Staff.

When live music returned from covid, gigs came flooding in. By half way through my busy summer schedule, the zippers started failing and the bag itself ripped as I pulled it in and out of my car along with the other equipment. I understand that things take a beating when you're gigging out of your car, but I would think that the case would be able to hold up to a somewhat rigorous gig schedule and the loading and unloading along with it considering the professional level of Hammond in general. Both zippers are now broken and the bag will not zip closed.

In addition, the carrying straps are way too long. Therefore the weight distribution while carrying makes it much harder and heavier feeling than it should be.

I loved the size, weight and protection that the bag had initially, but the quality was too poor for me to buy another. I had to replace it with a bigger, heavier case, but the new one has wheels at least. Wheels would also be a nice addition to the Hammond case should it be redesigned.

First, a gig bag for a large, relatively heavy keyboard like a Hammond XK-3c or XK-5 should be well-padded to offer protection. This bag is very lightly padded, inadequately so IMO.

Second, if you're going to be hauling a keyboard of this size and weight you need a bag with either wheels or a shoulder strap. This has neither.

Third, if the bag does NOT have wheels or a shoulder strap the hand straps should be a length that allows one to carry the bag with keyboard as comfortably as possible. As mentioned in another review, these hand straps are too long, and if you're going up or down stairs it requires that you lift such that your forearm is at least parallel to the ground, which with all that weight is not fun for one arm. Oh, and the hand straps are not padded , so you're a keyboardist going into a gig with sore hands.

Ended up buying the Gator Cases Pro-Go Ultimate 76-key Keyboard Gig Bag and it's fantastic. Plush padding that makes you want to curl up and sleep in the bag. Comfortable shoulder strap AND comfortable backpack-type straps(!!!), which are great for hauling longer than a few steps and when going up and down narrow staircases. Lastly, one well-padded hand strap on top plus one on the end of the bag - AND they're the right length for comfortable carrying. Bonus - the accessories section on the front of the bag has pouches and compartments for everything including an iPad. Really well designed.

Check it out and read the reviews - it's the winner hands-down, and makes lugging my XK-3c a pleasure.
