What is Certified Open Box Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call "Certified Open Box" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

Certified Open Box (also known as a demo) means we’ve had it out of the box for our YouTube channel, displayed at events, tested in our studio, or maybe it was in a customer’s hands for a few days and isn’t ‘factory fresh’ as a result. Every Certified Open Box item we sell has Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty and has been tested and verified up to ‘new’ specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it’s in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Certified Open Box item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

Reviews

ProCo W.I.E.M.S
This unit is is a good solid unit for price point. It does exactly what it advertises. No bells and whistles like the more expensive wireless units. For the cost one shouldn't expect them. But it is small, effective and convenient to transport.

Only Because the Pro Co WIEMS is 5.8 GHz...
Originally I had an Xvive U4 2.4 GHz WIEMS, but it interfered with my Xvive U2 2.4 GHz Guitar Wireless System. I returned the Xvive U4 2.4 GHz WIEMS and bought the Pro Co 5.8 GHz WIEMS. In my opinion the build quality of the Xvive U4 2.4 GHz WIEMS is better than the Pro Co 5.8 GHz WIEMS and the volume output of the Xvive is over twice that of the Pro Co. The only advantage the Pro Co has over the Xvive is it's 5.8 GHz and doesn't interfere with other 2.4 GHz devices including Wi-Fi and phones trying to connect to Wi-Fi. I still do get some interference with my Pro Co 5.8 GHz WIEMS, but that might be caused by the wiring in the building where I use it.
If you want it loud, DO NOT BUY
I had to purchase something outside of the standard 2.4 range within a reasonable price range. As a drummer I did not need some top of the line wireless IEM, I just don't like tails. I also sing and use a Shure Beta 56. If I have my vocal mic off I can barley hear anything on top volume. The only reason I am continuing to use this is with my vocal mic on the bleed through boosts my IEM volume enough for me to hear what I need. So unless you are a singing drummer be cautious.
poor sound quality
I have had this WIEMS in use with 3 different sets of headphones, and two different ear buds. I tried using different line outs from my system. I made sure both the Rx and Tx are fully charged. There is distortion on the input that sounds terrible. There is also intermittent dropouts that sound like the internal amp is failing. It is in every headphone and line out of my system, even with the feed signal turned down. When I bypass this WIEMS by using a HP amp and hard wire direct to my system, it sounds perfect and good. I have found that this issue is with the ProCo WIEMS. I am going to return it ASAP!

Don’t do it…
In theory great idea, but this unit is worthless. I've done everything I could think of to boost the signal to the unit so I can actually hear the mix… no luck… these suck period…..I missed my window of opportunity to send it back, because I'm dumb, and forgot… but I should have sent it back for store credit or anything really… they could have sent a box full of candy in its place and I'd be happier than I am with the product.
