Put a Vintage 30 in Your Cab

The Celestion Vintage 30 guitar speaker sounds amazing. If you're going to replace a speaker in your combo amp or cabinet, you want to be blown away. The Vintage 30 handily does that. Easily twice as loud as other speakers at the same power level, the Vintage 30 handles gargantuan overdrive with aplomb. Punchy lows, meaty mids, and a creamy, harmonically-rich high end make the Vintage 30 an excellent choice for your 4 x 12" cab, but it's also great in one- or two-twelve configurations. Put a killer speaker in your guitar cab - the Celestion Vintage 30.

There's science behind great sound

In the development of the Vintage 30, Celestion used Laser Doppler Interferometry to analyze the cone behaviour of an original Celestion Blue. They then formed a precise model of the vintage speaker's characteristics and applied it to the design of a new speaker using modern materials for greater power handling. Celestion determined that their H magnet came closest in performance to Alnico. This magnet was then combined with a new cone and coil assembly employing contemporary materials with similar mass and physical properties to the originals, only better suited to handling the additional heat generated by higher power amplification. If you want the vibe of a classic guitar speaker, but with modern robustness, you want the Celestion Vintage 30.

Replacing the speakers in my crate 2x12 was the best decision I made ...should have done it sooner...better late than ever ...thank you Matt and the Sweetwater team for making this possible

Celestion Vintage 30 12in - 16ohm
These blew the stock Seventy-80 speakers away. I have another 112 cabinet with a Seventy-80 and it sounds terrible compared to the growl of the Vintage 30s. Definitely recommend these if you're thinking about getting them.
Several Different Vintage 30s
Do your homework. There are 3 different variations of the V30. One made for Marshall and the one for Mesa are british made. The OEM version is made in China. I have found the Mesa is the smoothest sounding and a reason why studio engineers love them. Marshall version has a very aggressive midrange. The OEM is very harsh in comparison. There are allot of comparison videos to review. I attached a list of the model numbers. There are visible differences in the construction materials. Hope this helps. Great speaker. Just get the one voiced for your needs.

Great Speakers!
As with any Celestion speaker these are great. I put them in a 2x12 that I made and it is paired with my Carvin 2x12 that has Carvins "British style" speakers in it. I thought that they they would sound really good together and I am not disappointed.

I never hesitate to buy Celestion speakers!
Rekindled passion
Intended to add an extension cab to my Marshall DSL 40c that came with a Celestion 70/80. It was loud enough on drive channel but a little raspy on crunch. The Vintage 30 is a next level up, all the quality I expect from guitar cabinet, and cleaner than my 4 x 12 cabinet. So I swapped it into my DSL combo and put the 70/80 in the new cab I built. It might just stay on my porch because the Vintage 30 really doesn't need any "help" from an extension cabinet. Outstanding speaker ! All the cleans I want, crunch like Allman bros and grind like metal when I want it. Thank you so much for great counsel about the ohms (load).
