I play guitar for 32 years and this is the first gripper I bought in my life almost a week ago.
I started using it at my office ((workplace), it suddenly decreased my anxieties, anger, irritability and increased my attention and accuracy!
On the other hand I became addicted to it and cannot work anymore without pressing and playing with it!

I think the thing I like the most about the VariGrip are all the different ways you can use it. I have a lot of trouble with barre cords, so what I do is put the tension up on the first 3 "buttons" and use it work out my index finger, laying across the buttons. I'll be at work at my desk, holding and releasing over and over, and through time you will build up that index finger/thumb strength. Also the dummy "strings' on that are hidden under the rubber grip are really good at building up calluses. The product is very well made as well. For this price it is a no brainer.

I've been playing guitar for over 40 years on and off. At the age of 50 my hand and finger strength just isn't what it used to be. I bought this little device to help with that. Also, I've always had issues with chords and scales that require fretting notes with my pinky finger. I've only had this device for a day, and it's already making a noticeable difference! My chord and scale work have both improved, and my fingers are moving faster and more accurately. I'm no shred master, but I play lots of jazz, blues, and rock styles that require quick changes up and down the neck for solo phrasing. This device delivers the goods. I highly recommend this for beginners to pros and every skill level in between. This thing also makes a great warm up tool. As per usual Sweetwater delivered very quickly considering the fact that I ordered three days before Thsnksgiving day. Keep up the good work because you've made me a lifetime customer!

I bought one of these to help strengthen my fingers, this does the trick. But I should've been a little more patient. I didn't know they had an upgraded model. Now I'm gonna buy one of those. lol
