Picky Guitarists Choose Clayton Picks

Since the 1980s, Clayton has rocked the guitar world with their amazing selection of guitar picks. Clayton manufactures their picks from start to finish in their factory in (appropriately named) Talent, OR. They offer a treasure trove of pick materials, shapes, and gauges. Your pick is a major component of your sound. The shape, material, and thickness defines your note attack and tone. The surface feel is also a highly personal choice (you don't want your pick flying out of your fingers at an inopportune moment). Sweetwater offers a huge selection of Clayton picks. Stock up today!

One of the strongest guitar picks available, Ultem picks are made of the top-grade material to give you crisp clean tone - even on old strings. These picks produce a sound similar to that of tortoiseshell.

Reviews

... my go-to plectrum..
... whether palming while I finger pick or stroking across my strings.. I appreciate the Clayton .56 pick..

Fantastic!
These stay put while playing. Other picks I have tried would slide around between my finger and thumb. These "stick". Tone is great picking individual strings and strumming cords.
Long lasting feels & sounds great
I normally use .90 Dunlop Ultex Sharp picks for the last couple years, but wanted a lighter pick for when I play acoustic. These Clayton Ultem picks feel/sound similar to the Dunlop Ultex picks but they have a matte finish which provides a slightly better grip. Dunlop Utlex wasn't available in this lighter gauge, so I tried these and have been VERY satisfied with them. What is great about the Clayton Ultem and the Dunlop Ultex is that they wear slowly and evenly. They also hold their shape well, don't chip and will stand up to pick slides without getting a serrated edge from the wound strings cutting into them. Attack-wise, they are not too bright like celluloid and not so dull as Dunlop's Tortex material. The edge on them is very smooth and I get 3 to 5 times the use out of these picks compared to celluloid picks. I really dislike using anything but Ultex or Ultem picks.
Music background: Retired from gigging but still jam with old pros for fun.
Amazed
I bought these because I was just looking for something different. After using them I'm amazed by the difference. I used to think that a pick is a pick and the only real difference was the shape or ability to hold onto it. Wrong. These picks actually sound much different than anything else I've used. They are noticeably brighter. It's like you just changed strings. I never thought I'd be all excited about a pick but these are fantastic.
