The Ideal FRFR Complement for Your TONEX-fueled Rig

IK Multimedia’s TONEX Cab makes it easier than ever to take your TONEX pedals or favorite modelers on the road, delivering stage-shaking FRFR firepower in a compact cabinet form. This 700-watt cab wields top-shelf Class D Amplifiers, a 12-inch Celestion speaker, and a 1-inch high-performance compression driver to bring any digitally modeled tones to life with the utmost authenticity. An onboard IR loader with eight slots (packed from the get-go with pro-level presets) further bolsters your sound, and you also get a programmable 3-band EQ to optimize your rig’s sound for your respective setting. Even more impressive to Sweetwater’s scores of TONEX die-hards is the TONEX Cab’s unique Amp Tone control with advanced DSP — this feature that supplies a dynamic amp-in-room feel with the twist of a knob. It’s all complemented by a comprehensive I/O section to tackle any stage or studio application, with 5-pin MIDI ins and outs; a combo XLR input and aux in; USB; and a balanced XLR output that’s crowned with ground lift and a Pre/Post switch. You'll find the latter a handy tool for sending your sound direct to the front of house (Post — EQ/Amp Tone) and for utilizing the ability to link to another TONEX Cab (Pre EQ/Amp Tone).

Comprehensive connectivity

Whether you’re rocking the stage or simply jamming on the couch, the IK Multimedia TONEX Cab’s extensive I/O section accommodates any sonic situation with ease. First up, this cab sports both an XLR combo jack input and an aux input, making it a breeze to jam along with your favorite tunes and backing tracks. And for those who utilize complex switching rigs onstage, the TONEX Cab’s 5-pin MIDI In and Out jacks will oblige. Prefer to go direct? This cab’s balanced XLR output has you covered, and it even sports a ground-lift switch and a Pre/Post switch. With the latter switch, you can switch between the TONEX Cab’s Cab Link functionality (Pre) and sending your sound straight to the front-of-house (Post).

IK Multimedia TONEX Cab Features:

  • Compact, cutting-edge FRFR cabinet brings modeled tones — TONEX or otherwise — to the stage with superior sonic authenticity
  • Top-shelf Class D power amplifiers deliver 700W (350 RMS) of full range, flat response firepower
  • 12-in. Celestion speaker and 1-in. high-performance compression driver bring your digital tones to life with a muscular and authoritative response
  • Top-mounted controls give you the power to perform quick EQ changes onstage, with a 3-band EQ and Amp Tone control
  • Programmable 3-band EQ, custom IR loader with 8 onboard presets
  • Extensive I/O section includes 5-pin MIDI in/out, XLR combo jack input, XLR combo jack aux input, USB, and a balanced XLR output
  • XLR output includes a ground-lift switch and output with Pre/Post processing for Cab Linking or sending to FOH
  • Swappable grille cloth (sold separately) and integrated tilt-back legs

Reviews

Light and sounds great!
I recently had a chance to try one of these and was very impressed.

I recorded a video testing it with acoustic guitar and will link it below for anyone that is interested.
Awesomew
Absolutely awesome at all volumnes, This thing is crazy loud. I finally have the sound I've been wanting for so long. Use it with tonex and pod go
Finally getting "amp in the room" sound from my Fractal Audio
I've been using Fractal Audio since the days of Axe Fx II, and although they are arguably the best modeler on the market, the "amp in the room" feel has eluded me, causing me to go back to tube amps. Monitors and other FRFR rigs just don't cut it. I recently read a comment on the Facebook Fractal Audio group from a member who mentioned using this Tonex cab with good results. I've had it for a couple of weeks now and have to say I'm VERY impressed. I'm running my Fractal Audio FM3 through this cab and it sounds incredible. It comes with a library of IRs you can load into the cab, or you can let your modeler do the IR work and run the cab without an IR, which is how I run it. There are 8 presets that allow you to load your preferred IR (or no IR) along with the amp settings, all midi controllable. Another cool feature is the standard bass, mid, treble controls, so you can adjust on the fly during live gigs. I'm not sure what voodoo they are doing inside the box, but I finally have "amp in the room" experience with my modeler!
Sounds better than any of my amps!
I bought the Tonex cab yesterday and used it with my Tonex pedal…absolutely insane! It sounds better than my EVH amp for high gain and brown sound stuff. Hard to believe but it's true. I just couldn't get the right sound without turning my amps up super loud. The Tonex sounds amazing at any volume. And it captures the real "thump" of a tube amp perfectly. No need to fix tubes ever again!
AMAZING
I bit the bullet a couple years ago to go fully digital with my rig. Ive used tube amps my entire career as a recording artist, teacher, and professional sideman. Nowadays, I am a little older and am always looking for compact, but powerful setups. Having been a Line6 user for years (in conjunction with tube amps), I was used to using digital to some capacity. Line6 as good as it is still always had an artificial sound to me that I could never fully get rid of.

Enter Tonex.... last year I bought the big Tonex pedal and ....WOW....all the tube amp warmth was back! Plugged into FRFR speakers, I was used to how they sounded and felt.....enter Tonex CAB....and ......EVEN BIGGER WOW.....now my amps have the "amp in a room feel".... one of my students recently who is a vintage tube amp collector actually said...."man that rig sounds awesome, you're getting all that sound from that little setup?"

Yep....thank you Tonex and a big thank you to my rep David Hess and the Sweetwater team for working with us working musicians in an ever changing economy.
