A New Spin on the Classic Thump Formula

Mackie’s next generation of Thump loudspeakers is redesigned from the ground up to provide you with enhanced power and utility, all at a wallet-friendly price! The Thump212 loudspeaker’s ultra-efficient 1,400-watt class-D amplifier pushes plenty of air through the high-performance 12-inch woofer — a design that Sweetwater's live sound pros find is more than capable of handling most small- to medium-sized venues. Next, the 1-inch compression driver ensures that your sound is evenly dispersed, allowing the entire crowd to hear your music with crystal-clear quality. There’s even a built-in feedback eliminator to keep everything noise- and rumble-free! Plus, the Thump212 is loaded with flexible I/O power, boasting a versatile 2-channel design that can be set up for music ducking, allowing this loudspeaker to extend its utility outside of standard musical applications into the world of public address and education. Finally, like all Mackie products, the Thump212 is built tough to withstand the rigors of the road, and the unloading crew is sure to appreciate the lightweight 30-pound form factor.

Ultra-efficient class-D power

The Mackie Thump212’s ultra-efficient class-D amplification kicks out a powerful sound that defies this loudspeaker’s modest size! A 12-inch woofer dishes out plenty of low-end punch, and the 1-inch compression driver ensures that your sound is evenly dispersed across the entire venue. Lastly, Mackie’s built-in feedback eliminator all but eradicates unwanted speaker screech and rumble, maximizing your sonic potential and ensuring that your show runs smooth from start to finish.

Portable design for easy setup and transport

Weighing in at less than 30 pounds, the Thump212 is compact and lightweight, making it easy to transport. The Thump212's small and portable size will ensure that you won't need a road crew to mount it on a pole or pack it into your car. What’s more, the Thump212 is housed in a super-tough road-ready enclosure, so don't think that its light weight makes it fragile!

Mackie Thump212 Features:

  • 1,400W of class-D amplification is more than loud enough for most small- to medium-sized venues
  • 12-in. woofer and 1-in. compression driver deliver a full-range sound with plenty of low end
  • Flexible I/O, versatile 2-channel design, and a through output for a wide range of configurations
  • Music ducking mode is ideal for public address and education settings
  • Angled design is perfect for floor monitoring, but can also be mounted on a standard pole setup
  • Lightweight 29-pound design offers effortless portability
  • Signature Mackie durability to withstand the rigors of the road
  • Built-in feedback eliminator reduces unwanted screech and rumble

Reviews

Absolutely Happy with these speakers
After testing the speakers against other more expensive speakers as Sweetwater I realize just how good the speakers are and had to have testing against other Big brands Mackies seem to have a lot more headroom on the board every time the engineer switched to another high-end speaker they had to slide the volume up every time they switched back to the Mackies they had to turn the main down on the board I like that headroom and the fact the fullness of Sound and clarity was on point. First show we did with them. I was totally happy in reality. I owned the 15 inch version of this speaker as well and the 12 inch version has better clarity and slightly less bassiness yet still had the exact same power!

My Thump
My Mackie Thump 212 is performing very well. I use these as floor monitors. Mackie has come a long way over the years that my band has used them.
These latest speakers are definitely built like a tank.
Thank you Sweetwater for being there for musicians.

Small on size, big on sound
I love these speakers. My wife and I heard one of these speakers in the Sweetwater sound room and immediately bought two of them. We use them as part of our setup to provide music at private parties, and for Karaoke. At low volume, they will sit nicely and provide ambient background music, but turn up the volume and they live up to the name "thump". Good bass response and great sound and even in a good sized hall, we didn't get anywhere near the limit. They're light, easy to carry, have handles on almost every side, they feel plenty sturdy for my uses, and the added features like volume ducking are just icing on the cake. With two 12" speakers, I'm probably not going to add a subwoofer for our purposes because they provide clear sound through the entire spectrum. We put these up these on some Gator Frameworks stands and it works really well.

This jawn IS the jawn!
As a bass guitarist I use the Mackie Thump212 for sound when I play my Akai MPC key 37. I also use it as a monitor/personal monitor on stage and at rehearsals. The versatility of the unit is astounding. With the ability to use Xlr, ¼ Ts and TRS, as well as the 3.5 mm Inputs, The Line/Mic selector (channel 1), the feedback eliminator and the ducking function all at the push of a button. The sound that it puts out is amazing and it definitely has that thump! All of this in an amazing 27 lb Package. I also use it as a seat at rehearsals too. The unit is well put together handel's located so that you can pick it up easily. You can't beat it for the price.

Mackie Thump 212
Big shout out to Nick Barton at Sweetwater. This was his recommendation and as usual, is spot on.
Has more low end bass than I expected and was pleasantly surprised. Highs and mids sound crisp as well. Music ducking is a nice feature built in. Suprisingly not that heavy and easy to handle with side and top handle. Overall would recommend for a budget powered speaker and looking forward to getting another one and maybe a sub to match.
