The Baby Taylor Acoustic: Taylor’s Version

From her country-tinged self-titled debut to the record-shattering pop-music masterpiece 1989 and beyond, there is one thing (besides multi-platinum status) that all of Taylor Swift’s albums have in common. Each of her LPs features massive, global hit songs evolved from melodies and chord progressions written on an acoustic guitar. Inspired by her writing process and memories of crafting songs on her own Baby Taylor, Taylor Swift partnered with Taylor Guitars to inspire a whole new generation of young guitar players and songwriters with the Taylor Swift Baby Taylor acoustic guitar. What Sweetwater guitarists find particularly notable about this model is its 3/4-scale dreadnought body. This accommodation, paired with a slim, mahogany neck, makes this acoustic a comfortable and manageable guitar for younger players without sacrificing any of the warm, full tone provided by the spruce and sapele body tonewoods. Adorned with an ebony bridge, die-cast chrome tuners, and a custom soundhole rosette created by Swift, the Taylor Swift Baby Taylor acoustic is a guitar destined for the next Chairman of the Tortured Poet’s Department.

Folklore

Long before she was selling out stadiums, Taylor Swift wrote songs in her bedroom and played local stages throughout rural Pennsylvania and Tennessee. Many of her earlier-era songs written and featured on her first albums were, in fact, crafted on her Baby Taylor, which served as the inspiration for her signature collaboration with Taylor Guitars. The Taylor Swift Baby Taylor was designed specifically with the singer/songwriter in mind. It's an instrument built for comfort and portability from quality woods that offer a warm, full tone. A creative’s best friend, this guitar is primed for all-night writing sessions or to accompany onstage the honest, heartfelt voice of the budding artist.

Out of the woods

The Taylor Swift Baby Taylor is a prime example of the high-quality tonewoods Taylor selects for its guitars. The Sitka spruce top provides strong projection and the perfect amount of sparkle, while the layered sapele back and sides offer a warm and mellow quality, similar to that of mahogany. Paired with a mahogany neck capped with an ebony fretboard, the Taylor Swift Baby Taylor produces a balanced, full-bodied sound.

Who’s afraid of little old me?

With a 3/4-scale size compared to a full-sized dreadnought acoustic guitar, the body of a Taylor Swift Baby Taylor is compact yet still full in terms of tone. With a smaller profile, the Taylor Swift Baby Taylor is not only suitable for a younger player's stature but is also an excellent acoustic choice for singer/songwriters on the go or those confined to tight writing, rehearsal, and performance spaces.

Taylor Taylor Swift Baby Taylor Features:

  • Multi-GRAMMY winner Taylor Swift's signature Baby Taylor model
  • 3/4-size of standard Dreadnought body style for a more accommodating fit
  • Slim profile neck is suitable for smaller hands
  • Sitka spruce top and layered sapele back and sides provide full tone and dynamic range
  • Mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard allow for smooth hand movement and easy chord placement
  • Custom soundhole rosette design created in collaboration with Swift
  • An excellent model for young guitarists, budding songwriters, and Swifties alike

Reviews

Incredible sound, beautiful guitar
This Taylor Swift inspired guitar is beautifully designed and well constructed. It also has an incredible full-bodied sound for a smaller guitar. The action on the guitar is excellent, and I also like the smaller neck.

The case is also well made case is also very nice.

I also have to add that the customer service on Sweetwater is unsurpassed. They give person attention to every customer, and their representatives are very personable and nice people.
Music background: Played in bands as a guitarist and drummer.
Amazing bright sound
I have this in and an Ibanez PF2MH as far as 3/4 size guitars go. My daughter and I play this one way more than any of our other 5 guitars. Beautiful sound.
Love this guitar!!!
Let me start off by first saying that I'm so happy to have purchased my guitar from Sweetwater. The level of care and customer service I received from the company is unsurpassed. Better than I've even gotten in person here in Miami. They even sent me a whole photoshoot of my guitar after it's inspection. I'm a beginning guitar player, so I started out with an cheap guitar purchased at a local store, just to make sure I was really going to stick with it. When I was consistent and played for a few months, I decided it was time for an upgrade. Since I am a huge Swiftie, and an overall very small person, I thought this baby taylor would be perfect for me after looking through reviews of various small guitars. When it came, I waited the full 24 torturous hours before taking it out, and it was totally worth it! The strings on this guitar are so much more gentle on my fingers, and the action is such that I don't have to press down as hard as I did on my old guitar. I am 100% pleased with this purchase. I sound even better than before and I'm even happier playing.
Music background: Beginner - guitar/keyboard
Baby Taylor rocks my baby girls world!!!
My 10 year old is in her 5th year of guitar and this new Baby Taylor really stepped up her game. Beautiful sound, perfect size as she is tiny. She is much more excited about doing her lessons on a great instrument!!!!
Music background: not much
Nice first guitar
Bought for my 9 year old daughter. I checked out some "toy" guitars under $100. The playability was poor, setup, high strings, etc. The Taylor Baby is a quality guitar which will make for less frustration and better chance that she'll learn and stick with it. After a few weeks she's doing well and interest and enjoyment has grown. Although the tone isn't anywhere near a full size Taylor, which would be ridiculous to expect, it is better than competitive guitars. The gig bag is very nice for this guitar.
