A Pro-level Trumpet for Every Musical Setting

Part of the S.E. Shires value-laden Q Series, the TRQ10S is a pro-level trumpet with a singing sound, an amazing projection, and a centered response in all registers. This is a great all-around trumpet that works well in a myriad of applications. The TRQ10S's Q leadpipe includes a .345-inch venturi, yielding you an open, free-blowing feel with well-defined slots and responsive playability. You also get smooth-feeling hand-lapped monel valves and character-infused nickel-silver balusters. This trumpet's hand-hammered, 1-piece yellow brass bell includes a Q taper and round brass bead, maintaining its characteristic warmth and focus at louder volumes, while delivering a more veiled sound at lower dynamics. Compete with a brilliant silver-plated finish and traditional floral bell engravings, the S.E. Shires TRQ10S offers enough flexibility for any musical setting you may encounter. If you're searching for one horn that does it all, the TRQ10S is poised to accommodate you.

Built for pro-level performance

The TRQ10S is a top performer across an endless range of musical applications. This horn's heavyweight yellow brass Q leadpipe includes a .345-inch venturi and yields you an open, free-blowing feel with well-defined slots and an easy, immediate response. Its .459-inch bore delivers a brilliant, larger-than-life sound with excellent projection. The TRQ10S's hand-lapped monel valves supply smooth, quick action and excellent resistance to impact damage, moisture, and air leaks. Beyond that, this horn's standard-weight 2-piece valve casing includes nickel-silver balusters, infusing detailed passages with extraordinary response and clarity.

Hand-hammered, 1-piece bell with round brass bead

Constructed from yellow brass, the S.E. Shires TRQ10S's hand-hammered, 4.8-inch, 1-piece bell boasts a custom Q taper. This bell includes a round brass bead, which maintains its characteristic warmth and focus when you're going all out, and yields you a more veiled sound at lower volumes. This trumpet's bell also includes traditional floral engraving for an eye-grabbing look. The TRQ10S features a silver-plated brass body, which lends a brilliant sheen to every note you play.

Reviews

Nice trmpet
After reading the manufacturers promos and listening to a couple online sound reviews, I thought I would give this instrument a try. No local dealers had a demo so I found one at Sweetwater and decided to buy it. I have been playing it for a couple weeks and am getting used to it. It does have a very nice sound and you can really make it sound off in those passages requiring some force. The valves are fast and with more use should only get better. Where I would differ with the factory statements would be, in my opinion, on how free blowing the instrument is. Not nearly as free blowing as I had expected. Had I known that I believe that I would have tried the reverse leadpipe model. I am however getting accustomed to this trumpet. Just my preference. The more I play it the better I like it.Sound clarity is good and holds its own along side my band mate's Schilke.
Music background: playing since the '60's, local community bands (3)
