Solid hardwood mantle looks and sounds excellentThe mantle, TreeWorks' name for the wooden frame, is crafted from solid Tennessee walnut. The wood's color is intensified through a steaming process, which forces the heartwood's dark pigment to move throughout the board. Cut selections are then individually handpicked from rough, kiln-dried stock. The boards are cut and drilled, then sanded 16 times. Finally, a hand-rubbed oil finish is applied, resulting in a high-end, yet understated, appearance.
Heat-tempered bars deliver an ethereal shimmering toneThe bars are the essence of these chimes' sound, and TreeWorks knows it. That's why they don't paint, tint, dip, anodize, or plate them. Only high-quality custom-milled aluminum/titanium alloys are used. The alloy is T-6 tempered at 350 degrees for 8 hours for consistent grain structure, delivering a clear, distinctive sound. The bars are cut and precision drilled, then polished to minimize friction against the cord. Finally, the bars are individually tuned by ear, ensuring that they produce ideal tonal characteristics.
