Extreme Versatility Meets Powerful Low-end Sonics

The Yamaha TRBX304 merges versatility, eye-grabbing aesthetics, and powerful performances in a 4-string bass guitar powerhouse. This sleek-looking bass features comfort-focused contouring across a poplar body that's joined to a fast-action, bolt-on 5-piece maple-mahogany neck, sporting a rosewood fretboard that's exceptionally smooth. The bass's humbucking pickups are crafted with ceramic magnets to deliver hum-free sound and incisive accuracy, while the Performance EQ active circuit instantly optimizes your bass for myriad sonic styles. Factor in the Yamaha TRBX304's solid hardware and thoughtful design, and Sweetwater's bass barons agree: you've got a bass that's ready to conquer any studio or stage.

Classic comfort and future-facing style

The deep cutaway on the Yamaha TRBX304 gives you unencumbered access to the higher registers, while the pronounced upper bout provides the balance needed to mitigate any pesky neck-diving tendencies. The 5-piece neck, carved from maple and mahogany, features a high-speed profile. Meanwhile, the fretboard boasts a 10-inch radius, combining with the bass's 34-inch scale to give you the adaptability and control needed to traverse all manner of tone-sculpting terrain. Down low, the TRBX304's headstock was designed with a straight string pull, offering improved tuning stability and reduced overtones over all 24 frets.

Humbucking pickups deliver massive bass tone

Yamaha loaded the TRBX304 with a pair of custom-designed M3 humbuckers. These ceramic dual-coil pickups are outfitted with oversized pole pieces, supplying depth and definition without any hum. The TRBX304 also has a versatile set of active electronics, supporting you at any gig, and any setlist. An active 2-band EQ lets you dial in your ideal sound fast and easy, and the Performance EQ's 5-way switch and optimized EQ settings instantly call up tones for slap, pick, fingerstyle, and solo bass playing. The Yamaha TRBX304 bass can get you any tone you need in seconds.

Reviews

My Bass
I picked up a new hobby so I ordered this guitar
Music background: None
Great sounding bass.
I love this bass guitar. Got it last week and played it at my gig last night, it's light weight and has many functions for different sounds and it sounds great. I highly recommend this bass for both beginners and experienced musicians. You won't regret it.
Incredible mid-range bass
I've been playing on this bass for three weeks so far and don't intend to return it, it has performed excellently. Frets are excellent, though I get some buzz when playing more powerfully. I play exclusively finger style and the bass feels very comfortable. The groove for the thumb on the pickup is cool and I mess with it sometimes. The pickup switch sounds great in every mode and each mode is distinguishable in sound. Knobs are all responsive and the labeling piece is pretty helpful. Would recommend.

Awesome!
I'm more than pleased with this instrument. I researched guitars for months before deciding on the TRBX304 and I think you would be hard pressed to find a better quality guitar in this price range. The five piece maple and mahogany bolt on 24 fret neck with rosewood fingerboard is beautiful. I went with Mist Green on the mahogany body and the finish is really nice. The cut out on the body allows good access to those high frets. I don't spend much time playing that high, but on occasion it's called for, and it's nice to comfortably reach them. Nice quality knobs and Humbucking pickups makes for nice sound options and control. It even came with high quality D'Addario strings. It feels lighter than other bass guitars I checked out and I find it really comfortable to play. I strongly recommend you check this one out. I think it stands up well to some higher priced guitars easily. You add Sweetwater warranty and service and you just can't go wrong.
Don’t know what else …
I never played bass before. Didn't know there you could get 5 strings. Didn't know there was a pick vs plucking debate. Didn't know a bass amp was different than a regular amp. But I did know I wanted to play. Like…a lot. So with some help from Sweetwater, I landed on this one. It was in my budget. It looked cool. So I pulled the trigger. Didn't hear a note. Blind.

It's awesome. Like—amazingly awesome.

So I watched some videos. Learned what tabs were. And I play every day.

I know there are "better" and way more expensive bass guitars. I see them. But I have no idea what they do differently—bc this bass sounds amazing. It rattles everything in my house/neighborhood. It feels good. It's so much fun.

So, I have no idea what the other basses do or sound like. I'm sure if I put one in my hand now, I'd be like—huh—that is cool. But I don't know, for the price—this bass is endless fun and quality.

Zero regrets. And that is rare.

Oh, and I almost have "Waiting Room" up to pace.
