Comfortable body with progressive styling

The deep cutaway on the Yamaha TRBX304 electric bass guitar gives you clean access to the higher registers for soloing, while the pronounced upper bout provides balance. The 5-piece maple/mahogany neck has a comfortable and fast playing profile, and the straight string pull of the headstock offers improved tuning stability and reduces overtones. Great bass
I've had this bass for about a year now and I have to say, its a really solid instrument. Lots of tones, and very good playability. However I will say if you are experienced with a P or J bass it might be a little weird for you, the fretboard just seems smaller than a traditional fender style basses, but thats not necessarily a bad thing, I can rip that thing up way easier than my J bass because of that. My only complaint I personally dont like how it looks, it looks like a strange sci fi movie bass.

Awsome budget bass.
This was my first bass. I got it in a store almost 2 years ago. So i can definitely say it's a great bass for the value. The knobs feel very high quality. The body looks way better than the photo(i have the red version). The neck is very smooth. Great tone options for the price. 100% recommend. The only thing i dont like is the shape of the headstock. I prefer the 4 tuners on the left like the more common headstocks. Thats personal preference though, i dont think many will have an issue with that.

As a new bass player I think this bass is awesome. Feels comfortable sounds good. If you're looking for a bass and you are a beginner I say get this one. I love playing it.

Super great bass
This is a mega great bass for someone needing a high quality inexpensive bass. All aspects of my bass are of excellent quality. Light. Great simple controls provide lots of tone shaping. 4 knobs control volume, pickup blend, bass, and treble. These controls work very excellently. Lots of bass and treble boost. Great sounding pickups. The 5 position switch does not select pickup combinations like on a strat. It provides 5 predesigned sound profiles that can further be modified with the controls. The result is a lot of sonic territory easily at hand. Great Yamaha quality and ergonomics. This is a great inexpensive bass for someone needing something good.
Music background: 50 years of playing.

Exceeded all my expectations
If this isn't the best value of any bass guitar, I'd be shocked. I'm a guitar player who just wanted a bass for recording rhythm tracks and occasional goofing around, so I didn't want to spend too much money. This Yamaha looked very nice and got good reviews, so I pulled the trigger. I couldn't be happier. The fit, finish, and playability are far beyond my expectations for this price range. The paint is beautiful, and the only flaw anywhere is a tiny dark spot on the back where no one will ever see it. I wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't been going over it with a fine-toothed comb. The rosewood fingerboard is nicer than any of my guitars (which were all more expensive); a beautiful, deep rich brown with nice grain, and very consistent. Normally you expect budget hardware on a budget guitar, and I'm sure these aren't Yamaha's best pieces, but they certainly look and feel high-end. Everything has a beautiful smoked chrome finish and a quality feel. The pots turn very smoothly and the knobs look like some expensive aftermarket ones I bought for another guitar. The tuners are very smooth and solid feeling. I feel like I got a $1,500 bass... You really can't go wrong with this beautiful instrument. Highly recommended.
