Reviews

Nice Bass., but...
This Ibanez is an inexpensive bass that can be pimped out to your specs. I bought it from Sweetwater for recording purposes and was enjoying it until I had issues with the neck. I took it to my local luthier for an adjustment and he informed me the the neck was warped beyond help. Unfortunately the cheaper guitars can have such issues from time to time. So, I decided to build a new neck. I've built several electric guitars so I knew I could do it. I also put Fender Vintage P-bass pickups in it and a Dimarzio for the bridge pickup. And I added an extra knob for tone. The neck is a three piece neck that will never warp, and of course I installed a truss road as well. Now this pup sounds awesome in the studio. I can get a thick fat dark sound, or I can adjust it to have more treble (or anywhere between). Oh, I also put a new tail piece and bridge on it.

Yeah, it's a nice guitar, but just know when you spend $ for a guitar, you may have to spend more on it in the future.
Bass Joy.
Hello! I have been an avid guitar player for years, it is a passion. Recently, I considered learning Bass, mostly to fill in if needed. Kent Sallaz, my sales engineer, aided me in choosing my bass: an Ibanez TMB100! Quality build, necks plays nicely, pickups are solid. Concentric knobs control volume, pickup selection, bass boost & equalizer- allowing both P-Bass & Jazz-Bass sounds! This Bass exceeds my expectations & at $...even better! I chose the Mint Green color...retro vibe.

An Awesome Recording Tool
I have a 2016 American Fender Elite Jazz bass that is awesome, but in addition I wanted the fat sound of a Pbass for recording purposes, without having to buy another expensive guitar. So I bought a vintage mint green Ibanez TMB100 from Sweetwater and gutted it. I converted it from active to passive, replaced the pickups with a Fender 1962 Custom Pbass pickup and a Dimarzio Jazz pickup. I removed the stacked volume and tone pots that came on the guitar, put in new separate volume pots (one for each pickup), and added a separate tone pot equipped with an orange cap (capacitor). So, this TMB100 has three separate knobs instead of two stacked knobs. The tone is amazing!!! Absolutely the best.

The Ibanez is made very well for the price and is a great foundation to work from. It has the iconic Jaguar style body and smooth fat neck that works really well with my long fingers. I put some new flat wound strings on it and it plays as smooth as my Jazz. No regrets!
excellent starter
I bought this as my first bass, it's absolutely wonderful to play and has a great sound in the studio. If you're looking for an affordable short-scale that doesn't compromise sound, look no further.
