Overall great design. Simple, and everything I needed.

Great Case for a great price, and fast shipping! Sweetwater staff was attentive and helpful.

When Native Instruments decided to make the S4MK3 just a *tiny* bit wider than the older models, I realized I was going to have to buy a new case. I've used the original Traktor DJ case for my S4MK1 and S5 in the past. They are light, they protect, and are generally good. However, it seems ZERO thought was put into the real functionality of this case. There's an ever so tiny gap under the controller when it's installed, but realistically the only things that fit in there (besides thin air) are going to be some excess cables or maybe a 2.5" hard drive enclosure. Coming from an Odyessy case for a Rekordbox controller that has 1U under it for wireless mics, this was hard to work with.

Where it really fails are in two spots:

1) even if you fully extend the laptop tray, it can be awkward to get tot he right deck knob in the upper corner. It's just so close to the edge of the case behind the slider that it can be difficult to use, and YES the slide must be all the way out to access anything along the top of the controller.

2) They could have allowed just a tiny bit more depth. I've used multiple types/brand of XLR cables for connecting the Main Out and they all get bent into the back of the case. I suppose if you permanently installed the cable this is fine, but if you are constantly plugging in/out this is going to be an issue.

Lastly, while I like the low profile of the tray, it's east for laptop power and USB routed through the hole cut out to catch on the left deck knobs.

Bottom line is that there are only two choices on the market right now for a proper MK3 case, this is the least expensive and will work to get the job done. Just don't plan on putting much else beyond your controller in here.
