Supercharge Your Bass Practice Sessions!

The Aguilar amPlug 3 Tone Hammer bass guitar headphone amplifier delivers a satisfyingly fat and punchy bass tone that lets you get the most from practice sessions. Small yet mighty, the amPlug 3 Tone Hammer features two channels of all-analog circuitry: the Clean channel features Aguilar’s classic Tone Hammer voicing; the Drive channel pumps out more saturated, tube-like tone. You can fine-tune your tone using the Tilt-EQ control, which adjusts bass and treble simultaneously for a warm, bass-forward tone or articulate, focused tone — and everything in between. There’s also a Compressor inspired by the Aguilar TLC for taming dynamics, as well as Reverb for adding depth and ambience to your practice tone. For rich, swirling textures, the mPlug 3 Tone Hammer includes a Chorus effect inspired by the famous Aguilar Chorusaurus pedal. Finally, a built-in drum machine is onboard to keep your timing tight. Packed with features and great sound, the Aguilar amPlug 3 Tone Hammer is a fabulous little gadget no bassist should be without!

Aguilar: bass-savvy design and inspired engineering

Aguilar bass amplification is respected worldwide for its outstanding tone and reliability. It’s the backline of choice for such top bassists as John Patitucci, Gary Willis, Tim Lefebvre, and countless others. Aguilar designs gear by conceptualizing it from the musician’s perspective and then presses on with inspired engineering. For starters, Aguilar comprises a team of pro bass players and engineers. In addition to bass heads and cabinets, Aguilar also designs and manufactures preamps and pickups that are standard equipment in many of today’s finest basses, as well as effects pedals. It all adds up to a company that has a uniquely holistic approach to bass tone. Sweetwater is proud to offer you Aguilar’s outstanding line of innovative products.

Reviews

Aggie amPlug 3
I was amazed at how good this device sounds. Besides the sound quality, it offers exactly what I needed. To be able to play along with songs and hear myself and the song through headphones. Very convenient!
Music background: professional bassist
Aguilar amPlug 3
Great little addition to my practice arsenal. Works as it should.
I like to just keep it in the case of whatever bass I'm using.
Great price too!
What I Was Looking For
I wasn't interested in overdrive or effects, so I haven't paid much attention to these. I wanted a good warm, clean tone in a well-built chassis and the Aguilar Tone Hammer amplug provides these. The controls are easy to use, once you've familiarized yourself with them. As a bonus, the rhythm tracks are useful.
Music background: Lifelong amateur
Just what I needed
Just what I needed for when I'm traveling and away from my regular rig. Small, easy to use, sounds good for practice purposes….. and not very expensive either. Glad I bought it. Charlie Kim at Sweetwater is great to work with. Excellent customer service.
Music background: 50 years bass playing.
Convenient & Fun Little Practice Tool
I've been in the process of moving and bought this little guy to segue the time of not having my home studio space setup and living amongst boxes. I also thought it would come in handy to have in the gig bag while traveling. Having the ability to pipe in backing tracks from your phone, built in drum beats and effects, and the ability to go from a crystal clean tone to some dirt is all pretty wild considering its compact size. But be warned... I liked the tone so much I just ordered a Tone Hammer 700.. Sweetwater rocks as usual! Cheers!
