Hits the Nail on Tube-inspired Low-end Depth

“Tone Hammer” is no easy title for any amplifier to live up to, yet Aguilar’s TH500V2 Gen 2 Tone Hammer hits with a level of punch and authority that few other amps can match. This compact bass head is Aguilar’s Gen 2 update to the original Tone Hammer series, boasting the same harmonic-rich tube-inspired wallop as its predecessors. However, the TH500V2 comes equipped with a whole host of new upgrades to aid you in your low-end pursuits, including a full-featured IR Loader with preloaded Aguilar cabs and the ability to lock in your favorite third-party custom IRs. Next, the improved power section now features universal mains to accommodate touring artists around the world and improved cab support down to 2.67 ohms. You also get a robust 3-band EQ to tweak and twist your sound, in addition to a Drive control that delivers plenty of tube-like grit. Factor in the practice-friendly headphone jack and flexible DI out, and the Aguilar TH500V2 Tone hammer is ready to nail down your dream tone.

Flexible 3-band EQ and a punchy Drive knob

The Tone Hammer’s voice is heavily inspired by the classic tube-powered bass amps of yore, sporting an exceptionally warm-sounding preamp section with plenty of dynamic saturation. The preamp’s punch is paired with a versatile EQ section comprised of traditional Bass and Treble knobs. Lastly, even Sweetwater’s pickiest tube-obsessed bassists can’t help but be impressed by the harmonic-rich saturation supplied by the Tone Hammer’s pummeling Drive control.

V2 adds an onboard IR Loader to the mix

Enjoy cab-free performance thanks to the Aguilar TH500V2’s front-panel XLR DI out, allowing you to send your sound straight to your audio interface or the venue’s PA system. What’s more, the TH500V2’s onboard IR Loader ensures that your direct tones hit with all the punch and sonic authenticity of a traditional cabinet thanks to its preloaded SL and DB series cabinet tones. And if you’re already running a set of custom IRS, have no fear — the TH500V2’s IR Loader is also capable of running third-party IRs.

Aguilar TH500V2 Tone Hammer 500-watt Bass Amplifier Head Features:

  • Ultra-compact 500-watt solid-state bass amplifier head, fine-tuned to deliver all the warmth, grit, and harmonic depth of a traditional tube amplifier
  • Versatile EQ section allows you to tweak and tune your tone to taste, in addition to a raw and ripping Drive control
  • -10dB pad on the input to accommodate higher-output active basses
  • Easily accessible XLR DI located right on the front panel, making it a breeze to send your sound straight to a PA or audio interface
  • Built-in IR loader breathes life into your direct tones with preloaded Aguilar SL and DB series cabinets
  • IR loader also boasts the ability to accept 3rd-party IRs
  • Headphone amp for silent jamming and practice sessions
  • Robust power section accommodates a vast variety of cabs, featuring support all the way down to 2.67 ohms

Clean and Powerful
I run this though my Aguilar DB 210 and it always produces a clean, powerful sound.
Tonehammer 500v2
Sounds good but in comparison to my Eden 550 it doesn't have to body imo. I asked my wife her opinion and she concured. So, it doesn't impress the chicks
Music background: bassist since 1968
