Easily Achieve the Sound in Your Head

Orange’s TH30H guitar amplifier head is your surefire pathway to fantastic tube tones. This tube amp head boasts 30 watts of power and 2-channel operation to fit any playing situation. First, the clean channel comes with a 2-band EQ, delivering sparkling cleans with ear-pleasing harmonics that seem to leap out of your cab. Meanwhile, the dirty channel’s shape feature dials up classic rock and metal tones with absolute ease. The dirty channel also has a gain control for dialing up the ideal amount of grit and distortion. Each channel is footswitchable, which allows you to go from clean rhythms to dirty solos with a single stomp. You also get a tube-driven effects loop; 30-, 15-, and 7-watt operation; and standby mode. Ready to experience the ultimate in sonic greatness? All you need to do is grab this amp from Sweetwater and pair it with your favorite cab.

The clean channel

The TH30H’s clean channel is a thing of beauty. Plug in your guitar, and the clean channel provides glistening tones with harmonics that jump out of the speaker. This channel comes with both treble and bass knobs to help shape your sound to perfection, in addition to a master volume control. Sweetwater guitarists find the clean channel also takes pedals like a champ. Whether you’re letting your pedals do the work or are enjoying the clean tube goodness, the TH30H’s tone will inspire your creativity and encourage you to reach new playing heights.

The dirty channel

Need to kick the gain up a notch? Switch over to the dirty channel. While the clean channel has a 2-band EQ, the dirty channel features a shape control. The shape control is an EQ that helps you achieve classic rock tones, scooped metal grind, and everything in between with a single knob. Meanwhile, the gain control sweeps from subtle drive to full-out aggression, so players can imbue their sound with the perfect amount of dirt. This channel also comes with a master volume for setting the output level.

Flexible enough for any challenge

With the TH30 head at the center of your rig, you’ll have the flexibility to play, practice, perform, and record anywhere. Its 30-watt operation provides plenty of headroom, but if you don’t need to move that much air, the TH30 has you handled. Its Class A output is switchable between 30-, 15-, and 7-watt operation for bedroom playing and beyond. Plus, the footswitch jack allows you to change channels with a single stomp. Finally, the included effects loop gives you the freedom to integrate modulation, reverbs, and delays without sacrificing tonal clarity.

Orange TH30 30-watt Guitar Amplifier Head Features:

  • 30-watt tube amplifier head for guitars
  • Clean channel offers a 2-band EQ for flexible tone shaping
  • Dirty channel provides a rock-ready sound with Shape and Gain controls
  • Switchable 30-, 15-, and 7-watt operation ensures appropriate output in any environment
  • Footswitch jack allows you to change channels with a single stomp (switch not included)
  • Tube-driven effects loop allows you to integrate modulation effects without sacrificing clarity

GREAT AMP
I'm really happy I spent the $$ for this amp. the 30/15/7 watts selection is really all you'll ever need. the one feature I was hesitant about was the tone shift on the gain channel. wasn't sure if I'd really like it. it's wound up being one of my favorite features with it. you have a balanced Bass & Treble , and can adjust for more or less mids.
the FX loop is a great feature. I wouldn't have bought it without one. I used to has a AD30HTC. great tone but painfully dry. the wattage adjustments for the TH30 makes it an ideal amp for various size gigs.
I did swap out the 12axy preamps for 5751's in the V1 & V2 positions. smoothed the gain out nice. makes you push it a little harder. nice weight too. easy on my back.

My new favorite amp!
I started with the CR 60 and fell in love with Orange! I finally upgraded to my first orange tube amp The TH 30 and I am not disappointed! This amp is super versatile and can do everything from the most jangly cleans to the Most vicious distortion with beautiful articulate note separation.
Awesome Tone - But Not Perfect
This amp absolutely delivers on the gain channel. You can't get that classic Tom Petty overdrive or crank it up more to get metal type gain…. It's versatile….

However, the clean channel is not quite as smooth. In my opinion Marshall amps have the buttery cleans that I am a custom to, this amp needs serious help to have good clean tones…. I use my pedal board in the FX loop that consists of only timing stuff. You will need pedals in order to use the clean at all.

Also, the balance between the two channels is very disproportional, meaning that if you are at volume 5 on the gain channel, you'll be at volume 2 on the clean channel for comparable volume between the channels.

In the studio, this thing is absolutely great… but for live gigs, I'm not sure it would be my go-to amp.

Here's a fun cover I feud using the amplifier gain

SUPER Spectacular for import build
I have 7-8 boutique heads, and I snob my way around imports. This mighty beast DELIVERS! I play mostly low volumes at home. I am not always sold on OD channels, but this amp is phenomenal. Check out Page live with Black Crows and he sports an AD30. That is all you need to know. People try to describe Orange tone. It's Class A. Sounds like a Class A Marshall. Dual Terror slightly better sounding. But I'm done with the lunchbox thing.

Fits the bill !
Needed a smaller wattage amp for a gig after a cross country move took out my Mesa Boogie 50W. Tried a few others and thru didn't pack the punch I wanted. Matthew @ Sweetwater steered me towards this little guy . Presto ! Found it ! EQ is a bit limited ( could always run a pedal etc..) but to be honest the simpler the better is my philosophy. At home I can run it at 7w and actually get great tone ( perfect for recording) and in the 30W mode it is definitely more than enough to push a 4x12 cabinet for a mid sized venue. Actually sounds louder than my 50W Mesa .. more than enough ! Highly recommended!!!
