A New Standard for the Stage

The Beyerdynamic TG V50d aims to be the new standard in live vocal reproduction. This affordable dynamic mic boasts a wider frequency response than the competition to deliver lifelike lead vocals to your audience. It's built tough so you never have to worry about throwing it in a backpack or gear case. And the Beyerdynamic TG V50d's Sound Channeling Technology (SCT) cuts back on resonance and offers maximum feedback rejection - this means more of you in your monitors and a cleaner sound for front of house.

Beyerdynamic's Sound Channeling Technology Improves Output and Clarity

Beyerdynamic has been refining its acoustic labyrinthing known as Sound Channeling Technology for decades. Special channeling throughout the TG V50d's housing with exacting geometries gives this mic the unique Beyer sound. Beyerdynamic uses this technology to influence the polar pattern for better gain before feedback, and to shape the frequency response for cleaner, clearer stage reproduction. Sweetwater knows these qualities will be valuable to performers and mix engineers alike.

  • Built for live vocal reproduction

What is Certified Open Box Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call "Certified Open Box" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

Certified Open Box (also known as a demo) means we’ve had it out of the box for our YouTube channel, displayed at events, tested in our studio, or maybe it was in a customer’s hands for a few days and isn’t ‘factory fresh’ as a result. Every Certified Open Box item we sell has Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty and has been tested and verified up to ‘new’ specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it’s in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Certified Open Box item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

Reviews

better than i expected
i wanted something new for my church gig. over the years i have used so many mics both dynamic and condenser for singing and public speaking. this mic was a surprise. the price is right and it sounds nice. i have good experience with Beyer Dynamic mics and headphones. they are a solid company. this mic, at least for my voice, is strong and clear, which are the two most important considerations. so far i see no negative features. i am a happy preacher. Music background: guitar player for 60 years+, singer and public speaker
Best Mic for this Price Range
I use this Mic a LOT for live performance and is consistently out performing other peoples SM58's. It is crisper and seems to have a more clarity. This mic is on the heavy side, but a good heavy. It is sturdy and will last. Only wish would be an option for a switch, but thats what mute buttons are for right? I picked up a second when it was on sale for a crazy $.
Music background: 40+ years performing
Better than a 58 in almost every way
I really like this mic. Similar feedback rejection to a 58 but with a clearer tone. I always felt I was being slightly muffled by the industry standard but this one opens up to a bit of top end bloom that I feel helps my vocals cut through the mix. I've read some people saying that this has more output, but I'm not sure it does, at least not across the entire frequency range. I half expected to have to back my channel off when I switched mics but the output was very similar to my ear, just with more top end. The only area that the 58 bests it is in handling noise, but not by a whole lot and since I play bass and sing with it on a stand this is largely a non-issue for me anyway. I wanted to try this in part because I had read that all Beyer mics are made in Germany (that turns out to not be true, as this is clearly labeled "Made in the Czech Republic", but at least it's still made in a country with a minimum wage and a social safety net, unlike the big guy who probably has five bucks into their hundred dollar model). Sweetwater only had a demo left in stock. The description said "minor surface scratches" so I waited anxiously wondering what would arrive. I don't know what they were seeing but they could have told me this was new and I never would have doubted it. All original documents and accessories were present, even the stickers, and I don't see any marks of any kind. I have never had anything but a great experience with Sweetwater!
Music background: Local gigging
Much better than a 58
Wow this mic has blown me away! Great handheld and built by fine engineers. Couldn't ask for a better handheld vocal microphone.
Music background: Live sound, recording, corporate AV
Reasonable price, great results
I used a Beta 58 for over 30 years before it finally wore out, but TG V50d offered some new clarity when I plugged in, simple as that. It's a great microphone, for me, at a friendly price.
