Fresh Take on a Legendary Double Cut

The Thinline series represents Eastman’s take on a genuinely classic semi-hollow design that all guitarists know and love — and the handsome T486 Thinline really makes a bold statement! With a semi-hollow body carved to that iconic double-cutaway shape, reinforced with a feedback-fighting center block, and topped in a vibrant maple veneer, this comfortable Thinline offers a low-profile feel and vivid organic voicing that perfectly sets the tone for its electronic outfit. The pickups at hand? An exceptional set of '59 and Jazz humbuckers by Seymour Duncan. Fully equipped for sonic contouring to your heart’s content with per-pickup Volume and Tone controls, the T486 Thinline comes crafted to curate a classic dual-coil sound to suit myriad musical directions. It plays like a dream, too, courtesy of Eastman’s Traditional Even “C” neck profile and 12-inch-radiused ebony fingerboard. Fully bound and appointed with rock-steady Gotoh and Pingwell hardware, the T486 Thinline stands to deliver marvelous musical, functional, and stylistic appeal to every stage it sees.

Bright and clear with a low-profile feel

The T486 Thinline combines a charismatic and articulate maple top with a back and sides of laminated maple to match, presenting a bright and forward tonewood combination that highlights every note with vivid clarity. A double-cut body shape enables effortless control of every fret, and its ultra-narrow body profile remains maneuverable and provides unobtrusive access for all strumming arms. Its Traditional Even “C”-profiled neck, also of maple, prolongs its natural vividity and ease of command with a universally comfortable grip in hand, complemented by a 22-fret and sustain favoring ebony fingerboard that’s radiused to a smooth playing 12 inches and primed for pleasurable playability. All this to say? Just as the T486 Thinline puts the music first with its natural tone, it will put you first in terms of comfort with its exquisite playing feel.

A pair of Seymour Duncan dual-coils

The T486 Thinline comes armed with two different humbuckers by Seymour Duncan: the '59 and the Jazz. At the neck pickup, the Jazz humbucker affords players that traditionally smooth and bubbly definition for gliding notes and chords up and down the fretboard with pure warmth and suaveness. In contrast, the '59 humbucker at the bridge provides a vintage PAF output and growl that more easily accommodates fiercer genres like rock. The blend creates a versatile unit ready to adapt to just about any direction the music takes you. Treated to per-pickup Volume and Tone controls, plus a 3-way pickup selector switch, you'll find it incredibly easy to hone in on a tone that truly speaks your language.

A stylishly stable player

A fluid player across the stage and studio, the T486 Thinline comes armed with a hardware assortment that guarantees proper playability is maintained for lengthy sets and sessions. First, Gotoh hardware, such as a Tune-o-matic bridge and GE101A tailpiece, offers an anchoring full of sustain and rugged dependability. The same can be said for its Pingwell tuning machines, met with a neighboring real bone nut for a natural string response as classic as its silhouette. And if it’s charm you’re after, it’s charm you’ll get! Its tuning machine buttons feature that classic Ivoroid outline, matched in vintage appeal by its double body binding and old-school black top hat knobs. Stability? Check. Style? Check. The T486 Thinline has it all!

Eastman Blew Me Away — Incredible Build, Unreal Sound, and a Sweetwater Experience That Won Me Over

This Eastman is an incredible guitar. The build quality is honestly better than any Gibson I've personally owned, and the sound is unreal. It feels solid, refined, and way above what a lot of people would expect at this price point. Eastman is a real sleeper brand.

I liked it so much that I bought a second one for my son.

I also want to say how great Sweetwater has been.
