Fresh Take on a Legendary Double Cut

The Thinline series represents Eastman’s take on a genuinely classic semi-hollow design that all guitarists know and love — and the handsome T184MX Thinline really makes a bold statement! With a semi-hollow body carved to that iconic double-cutaway shape, reinforced with a feedback-fighting center block, and topped in a vibrant maple veneer, this comfortable Thinline offers a low-profile feel and vivid organic voicing that perfectly sets the tone for its electronic outfit. The pickups at hand? An exceptional set of Bare Knuckle Old Guard Custom humbuckers. Fully equipped for sonic contouring to your heart’s content with per-pickup Volume and Tone controls, the T184MX Thinline comes crafted to curate a classic dual-coil sound that suits myriad musical directions. It plays like a dream, too, courtesy of Eastman’s Traditional Even C neck profile and 12-inch-radius ebony fingerboard. Fully bound and appointed with rock-steady Gotoh hardware, the T184MX Thinline is poised to deliver marvelous musical, functional, and stylistic appeal on every stage.

Well-equalized with a low-profile feel

The T184MX Thinline combines a charismatic and articulate solid maple top with solid mahogany back and sides, resonating with a naturally equalized formula that injects excellent definition into every note. A double-cut body shape enables effortless control of every fret, and its ultra-narrow body profile remains maneuverable and provides unobtrusive access for all strumming arms. Its Traditional Even C-profiled neck of mahogany prolongs its natural sustain and ease of command, with a universally comfortable grip, complemented by a 22-fret ebony fingerboard that’s radiused to a smooth playing radius of 12 inches and primed for pleasurable playability. All this to say? Just as the T184MX Thinline puts the music first with its natural tone, it will put you first in terms of comfort with its exquisite playing feel.

Bare Knuckle Old Guard dual-coils

Fancy the realms of rock, blues, country, pop, or alternative? These Old Guard Custom humbuckers by Bare Knuckle are the perfect armament for your playing style! Hand-wound and engineered with alnico II magnets, Old Guards exude an ever so slightly lower output that, in turn, produces that classic, full, wide-open sound with phenomenal versatility at all dynamics. To accommodate your specific musical circumstances, a 3-way pickup selector lets you toggle between or combine the Old Guards while sculpting their responsiveness to your exact liking with Volume and Tone knobs for each humbucker. Balance, blend, and enhance these humbuckers to your heart’s content to meet a wide range of dual-coil tonal standards.

A stylishly stable player

A fluid player across the stage and studio, the T184MX Thinline is equipped with a hardware assortment that guarantees proper playability for lengthy sets and sessions. First, Gotoh hardware, such as a Tune-o-matic-style bridge and GE101A tailpiece, offers an anchoring full of sustain and rugged dependability. The same can be said for its Gotoh SD90 tuning machines, met with a neighboring real bone nut for a natural string response as classic as its silhouette. And if it’s charm you’re after, it’s charm you’ll get! Its tuning machine buttons feature that classic Ivoroid outline, matched in vintage appeal by its double body binding and old-school amber bell knobs. Stability? Check. Style? Check. The T184MX Thinline has it all!

Reviews

Eastman T184MX Is Incredible
The attention to detail with this guitar is phenomenal. I wanted a smaller body guitar than a traditional ES 335. This fits the bill perfectly. The tonal palate is incredible. The first thing going into my pedalboard is a tuner. After the is a Boss GE7, then an Origin Cali 76 compressor, Strymon Decco, OD's, delays, and finally reverb. I tweaked the GE7 a bit to fit this guitar, and everything is so crystal clear and dynamic. If you are considering buying a Gibson ES 339, check this out. It is a better made guitar! No Bull! The only thing....and this is why you should play one to see if it is right for you....is that the neck is a little chunky. This can help when picking individual strings, but gets a little wide up thence if you have small hands. Other than that, it is guitar perfection.
Music background: Playing for 50+ years for fun, still learning & playing local gigs
