My Timber slit tongue lig drum.
I have added this musical drum to my Kulingtang( 8 sets of tunes gongs) from the Philippines. Together I can create sounds similar to the mountain province, gives the children an easier understanding and playing the instrument at 1st try. I'll still add a few more sounds....my next one is the CAJON. Thank you all...and to Tomir.

Music background: 21 years as a road band. Yes I have performed in your area, between having our bands equipment fixed or maintained and our made to order motorhomes in South Bend.
Awesome high tones
It's a simple fun musical toy that can produce warm wood tones but the lower semi tones are a bit odd,dull and lack a melodic feel combined with the higher melodic notes which are very on point. In the end this is really cool because you can always record these tones and change the tuning and probably excerpt awesome sounds within the sounds if you zoom in on a DAW.

Larger and heavier than I thought it would be and that is a good thing!! It is a six tone log drum and the lower 3 tones do not have much volume but they may loosen up with playing…

drum developed multiple severe splits and cracks.
I bought this for my brain injured son. 4 of the 5 pieces of wood have developed multiple splits and cracks; indicating the wood was not properly seasoned. Some notes rattle as a result.
I wrote a letter to sales to alert them of this issue and never received an acknowledgement. Super disappointed in every way.
Cool idea; poorly executed. Buy something else.

Poor Quality
Purchased this for our daughter, who lives in another state, for Christmas. We called shortly after the New Year to see how she liked the Timber Drum. Unfortunately, she was disappointed with it. She played it for us over the phone & only three of the tones played, like they were supposed to. The other three were just dull thuds. Luckily, our sales engineer, Alex Campos, arranged for us to return the defective instrument & helped us replace it with a much better Schlagwerk Log Drum, which we know will be of higher quality. Can't wait to hear the sounds from that one, when it arrives.
