Great for mixing in pedals with a bass
Where has this been all my life? It is perfect for blending in pedals to a bass signal without completely corrupting the clean or dry bass tone. Can't wait to keep trying out more things with it. Absolutely essential at this point.
Makes all my other pedals more versatile
This is the most useful pedal on my board and it's not even really an effect. I use it to blend different drive pedals in parallel. You can blend any combination of pedals too since it has internal phase reversal switches for each channel. The dry blend is a nice touch too. IMO way better than the Boss LS-2.
Opens up your own magination
I want to try and explain why i think this is such a great pedal and what i am doing so far… 1st example: i geared up with the switchblade running 2 different signal chains… one chain has universal audio "The Lion" and the other chain has universal audio "The Dream" amp simulators. Running one chain with a tube screamer on the front end and the other side; a blues driver..
Both chains run thru THE SWITCHBLADE and then thru my H-9 into stereo house mix…
This allows me to have an incredible amt of variations when i am playing lead… it can be blended or isolated by chain…
I really suggest you get one and see what you can do!!!
This is just one way i am using my SWITCHBLADE! There are numerous combinations that can be faded and blended together
Parallel !
What sets this looper apart is the parallel feature. I'm running a Morely wah into a BigMuff in loop A and a Dynacomp in B. I had never been able to run the three in series before without a massive wall of noise, but in parallel it's quiet enough that the Hush cleans it up completely. Key is the Dry knob which controls the level of the signal that gets sent to loop A. This way I can lower the input gain of the Muff, like you do when you use a Fuzz Face and roll off your guitar's volume control and it cleans up. Plus, I still get to run the compressor for clarity, and switch them all off with one button tap...too cool.
Music background: School band, local bands, annoying my neighbors
Down with the swirl.
This is a utility box that will solve a lot of signal routing issues. Where the fun begins is creating two different effect chains and playing around with combining them in either series or parallel, mixing their volume levels, and mixing in the pre-box signal volume level, too if you like. I have yet to try all the various ways to twist my guitar signal, but so far my favorite is running two versions of dirt, mod, + time chains in parallel. I'm looking forward to trying this box as an amp switcher. It has internal phase reversal switches, but it does not have a ground lift. Aside from the sound effects rabbit hole, the Switch Blade Pro sounds good. Having individual volume adjustments makes blending easier. I noticed no alteration of my input signal (aside from level changes with knob turns). EHX included a power supply, so that's a bonus. Have fun with this, it's well worth your time and money!
Music background: Over 20 years playing guitar/bass in various bands

What Do Our In-house Gear Experts Think?
Scott Augustyniak
Great solution for guitarists that use overdrive pedals to emulate amp channels into a clean amp. Easily switch between the 2 pedals or chains of pedals while having a separate bypass switch that can be engaged in either the A/B or A+B mode. The blend and level controls are much more convenient for quick level balancing than adjusting individual effects you have routed through this.
