The Good Witch

The Switch Witch is practically indispensable for remix tasks in today's recording studio. When you remix a track, you typically use two or more pairs of speakers to compare mixes. With the Switch Witch line level speaker switcher you can select up to four pairs of speakers from a single balanced stereo line level source. This means that during remix, you get a smooth, flawless switch between speakers, making comparison easy. The Switch Witch is housed is a single space 19" rack enclosure, with all the controls on the front panel and all the connections on the back. All ins and outs are XLR connectors.

After a few years of searching for a rackmount monitor controller, and finding only low-end junk or exorbitantly priced units that do far more than just switch monitors, I accidentally came across this unit, which I purchased instantaneously. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I have to say that my experience with it has been just awesome. It is solidly built, rugged, and easily configured between my Apollo X8, Yamaha HS8, and Avantone speaker set. I really appreciate the utter simplicity of just being able to reach out, with my eyes closed, and switch on and off the speakers that I want to hear. No fumbling with buttons, strange controls, or things that I don't want. Want the Yamahas? Flip the first switch up. Done. This unit gets the job done perfectly and stays out of the way.

This has been a great purchase and one I would do again in a heartbeat.

I need to check mixes on 3 different monitors to make sure everything sounds right in various scenarios.

The switcher for monitor management works perfectly sounds transparent. I can go seamlessly from Genlec, Adam Audio , and Focal monitors rackmountable I like the toggle switches as opposed to the buttons. Made my studio life much simpler!
No more going behind my desk and switching monitor inputs.
One huge benefit is the ability to defeat the monitors while tracking, switch them back on for playback, and back off for tracking etc, without having to turn the speakers off and on. (Really handy as my Yamaha's power switch is in the back!)
With four switchable output pairs, I was able to connect the main outs from my board to two sets of monitors, one set to my two track, and the fourth to my drum room for playback.
