Eight Channels of '73-style Preamplification

The Heritage Audio Super 8 supplies you with eight colorful channels of '73-style preamplification in a single rackmount housing. Beyond that, you get built-in 24-bit/192kHz digital-to-analog conversion for seamless transfer to your DAW. The Super 8 boasts top-shelf components, such as Carnhill transformers, plus tantalum and Styroflex capacitors, ensuring true-to-life golden-era British flavor. All eight of the Super 8's preamps are loaded with pro features, including phantom power, polarity reverse, a low-cut filter, and more. You also get lo-Z compatibility, a -20dB pad, and a JFET DI on selected channels. If you're searching for that elusive British-flavored juice for your studio, the Super 8 gives you eight superb channels of it.

Delivers authentic British '73-style sonics

For recording aficionados, golden-era British consoles are the stuff of legends. The Super 8 gives you eight Class A, 3-stage '73-style preamps — the gold standard for this type of sound. This 8-channel mic pre is bolstered by exclusive custom-designed Carnhill input and output transformers, along with tantalum and Styroflex capacitors. In the end, you not only get a generous 80dB of gain, you also get the juice, vibe, and feel of a vintage '73.

Replete with pro features

The audio pros here at Sweetwater are duly impressed by the sheer number of features contained in the Super 8's 2U, rackmountable chassis. All eight of the Super 8's pres include +48V phantom power, a Line button for line-level signals, a Phase button for polarity reverse, and a low-cut filter that produces a -3dB cut at 80Hz. Also, the microphone preamp's first channels are equipped with a lo-Z button to accommodate low-impedance signals, a -20dB pad, a JFET DI, and a fully sweepable low-cut filter. One thing's for sure: the Heritage Audio Super 8 will never leave you wanting.

Premium 24-bit/192kHz A/D converter

Thanks to the Super 8's top-quality A/D conversion, you'll find integrating this microphone preamp with your studio a piece of cake. And with ADAT, S/PDIF, and AES/EBU onboard, compatibility won't be an issue. This 24-bit analog-to-digital converter offers selectable internal sampling frequencies from 44.1kHz to 192kHz, plus it can be sync'd externally via word clock. The Super 8 includes a per-channel switchable path for the converter, enabling you to send a preamplified signal to your DAW directly from its corresponding input, or send a signal from an external source. This lets you send a preamplified signal out to another processor, then return it to the Super 8 for A/D conversion.

Reviews

They sound great!
Warm sounding preamps. I decides to go with these over the Neve 1073OPX because they have the output trim so I can drive it more. These are my first class A preamps and I really don't regret making the investment. The difference in sound between them and just the preamps on my old Focusrite Clarett and Scarlett is incredible! Really love the sound!

I love this preamp
This preamp is amazing for everything, especially tracking drums. I use an Apollo twin as my interface going ADAT into the Heritage Super 8 which gives me 10 channels total. I'm amazed at all the features and ease of use. What sold me on this preamp is being able to blend the input and output transformers. The new Neve 8 channel pre's don't have output transformers. This is why I chose the heritage version. It allows me to properly saturate the pre how I need to. I recommend this preamp to everyone.
