A Full-spectrum Constellation of Interstellar Bass Sonics

Known for their pension for defying convention, Schecter’s Stargazer 4 is a no-holds-barred bass that dares you to summit the furthest peaks of low-end-crafting terrain. From its foundational tonewood dyad of mahogany and maple to its Schecter USA pickups and accompanying tone-crafting tools, the Stargazer’s 4-string suite supplies players with a malleable array of performance possibilities. Bassists at Sweetwater are enamored by this instrument’s latent sonic potential to conjure untold worlds of sound, seamlessly moving from multidimensional ambience to high-impact, heavy-hitting synchronized tones. Thanks to an ultra-fast neck, Graph Tech Black TUSQ XL nut, and versatile coil controls, the Stargazer 4 maximizes studio and stage performance without compromising comfort or character.

Crafted with care, all the way to the core

Is tone in the fingers? What about the strings or the pickups? The age-old debate won’t be resolved today. However, wherever you stand, a solid foundation is critical to any tone, and Schecter’s luthiers spared no effort in outfitting the Stargazer 4 with a flexible yet focused foundation. Mahogany was chosen as this bass’s aural cornerstone, and for a good reason — its naturally balanced output is complemented by blossoming harmonics and blooming overtones, enriching every register with presence and panache alongside plenty of punch and headroom. Its maple neck and fretboard impart full-spectrum warmth to your tone, combining shimmering brightness and focused articulation that ensures leads, chords, harmonies, and more are voiced with precise definition.

US-built pickups tailored for tone crafting

Considering this bass’s boisterous palette of possibilities, Schecter pulled no punches in designing a tone-sculpting suite capable of evoking the Stargazer 4’s robust sonic array. Its pair of US-crafted Schecter USA M-25 pickups adorn the neck- and bridge-mounted positions, with Volume, Blend, and Tone controls ready to refine your sound. What’s more, each pickup features a dedicated mini-toggle. The bridge pickup allows you to navigate between series, split, and parallel operations, while the neck pickup offers a coil-tap function. Taken together, the Stargazer 4 supplies no shortage of onboard sonic shaping, seamlessly tailored to suit your style or full-on aural exploration.

Premium playability to maximize sonic exploration

Supporting this 4-string aural odyssey, the Stargazer 4 is primed for premium performance and playability, starting with its 3-piece maple neck. Building the neck in this way not only expands its harmonic complexity but also increases the neck’s dimensional stability, maximizing its resilience to warping or twisting. Complementing its smooth heel and elegant treble-side cutaway, the thin C-shape neck and 14-inch fingerboard radius provide the perfect sandbox for navigating its 22-fret array with speed, style, and comfort. With a Schecter Diamond Custom bass bridge and M-Series tuning machines bookending the strings across its 34-inch scale, the Stargazer 4 is your portal to multidimensional sound and spectrum-spanning possibilities.

Schecter Stargazer 4 Features:

  • Mahogany body elicits complex harmonics, blooming overtones, and full-spectrum precision
  • Maple neck and fingerboard imbue every register with warmth and brightness
  • 3-piece neck design maximizes dimensional stability, increasing resistance to warping or twisting over time
  • Schecter USA M-25 pickups include a comprehensive suite of tone-shaping tools for unrivaled sound design and customization right at the source
  • Thin C neck profile and 14-in. fingerboard radius support multitudes of playstyles with comfort and speed
  • 22-fret spread and 34-in. scale allow for numerous tuning and harmonization configurations
  • Graph Tech Black TUSQ XL nut and Diamond Custom bridge ensure reliable intonation and buzz-free tones

Reviews

Stargazer 4
Always wanted a Pic. Way too expensive. I own a Schecter Ultra bass. Very familiar with the quality, sound and feel of Schecter basses. This bass does not disappoint! The overall appearance is stunning. It has those subtle Ric looks about it. The pick guard gives it that modern retro look. The white binding on the neck actually rolls over onto the fretboard. Very cool! Well balanced bass. Not heavy at all. Blending options with the electronics delivers lots of tones. Pickups are punchy for passive. Fun to play. Setup vey well right out of the box. Very happy with this purchase. Thanks Sweetwater!
