A Punchy Gretsch Short-scale Bass

With the Streamliner Jet Club single-cut bass, Gretsch puts a fun short-scale in the hands of newcomers and veteran bassists alike. Made with a nato body, nato neck, and laurel fingerboard, you’ll jet around the Streamliner Jet Club with plenty of comfort. A Slim “C” neck combined with a 30-inch scale length ensures that syncopated grooves and lines that rock the root are a breeze. Thanks to its lithe form and short-scale length, the Gretsch Streamliner Jet Club makes a fantastic first bass for kids, a superb traveling instrument, or a hardy short-scale for bassists desiring new digs. The Streamliner Jet Club is equipped with two single-coil bass pickups capable of filling the room with powerful subsonic frequencies. Finally, bassists can fine-tune their tone with the onboard volume knobs for each pickup and a master tone.

Built with Gretsch style

Sweetwater bassists concur: You’ll be the coolest musician in the room with the Gretsch Streamliner Jet Club slung across your shoulders! It starts with a nato body and bolt-on nato neck capped with a laurel fingerboard that makes for an excellent playing surface. Gretsch then outfitted this bass with player-centric components like 22 medium-jumbo frets, a Slim “C” neck, and die-cast sealed tuning machines to ensure satisfactory performance. At the far end, a 4-saddle adjustable tailpiece stands at the ready, and a bone nut seals the deal for excellent intonation. Other embellishments, including pearloid Neo-classic thumbnail inlays and knurled radio knobs, complete the scene for a bass guitar that looks and plays with massive appeal.

A dynamic duo of single-coils

With a punchy sound, player-friendly feel, and retro looks, the Streamliner Jet Club is poised for an enjoyable jam session. The secret to the Streamliner Jet Club’s massive sound is two single-coil bass pickups. Each pickup is equipped with corresponding Gretsch knurled radio volume knobs that allow bassists to toggle their sound. What’s more, a master tone knob stands at the ready to add extra sonic flavor. You'll be surprised at the powerful sonics you can draw out of this small bass!

Reviews

Full round sound
Ordered last year and got mine around Christmas. Was so happy out of the box with it. Started playing immediately. Set up to use with my Fender Rumble 500. Such a fuller bassier sound than my other basses. Won't be gigging with anything else. Bought it because of the size and weight. Old shoulders and back can't handle the full size anchors anymore. My husband, lead singer in our band and also sound guy is very happy with it. Been gigging together for 22 years. Happy Wife, Happy Life. Thank You Sweetwater and Mike Godlove our sales rep for many many years of superior service.
Music background: Playing 22 years in same band, 2 states.
Beautiful Bass
Exemplary playability. The deepest darkest cherry stained walnut is incredibly beautiful.
Music background: 59 years of playing, collecting, trading. I Love guitars.
Superb.
SO easy to play, and it rarely goes out of tune. I added La Bella Deep Talkin' flatwound strings, like I have on my Hofner basses and my Steinberger. The short scale does not change the sound of any song you play. The value is amazing.
Fantastic bass!!!!!
I could not believe it when it arrived from Sweetwater. Right out of the box, it played beautifully. I have been playing bass for fifty years. All long scale. But my fingers couldn't do the walk anymore so I thought I'd try a short scale bass. I tried an Epiphone sg bass but the quality just wasn't there. The nuts weren't glued in place, or the neck screws were stripped so I couldn't tune it, and one that the machine heads had a burr and break the strings. So, I decided to try this Gretsch streamline jet bass with the walnut stain. And it was beautiful right out the box, I would recommend this bass to anyone that wants to try a short scale bass.
Music background: Switched from guitar to bass in 1974 and have played bass since
I like it but I'm a guitar player.
I bought this to add depth to my home recordings since I stopped gigging. I like that it is the size of my other guitars. Sounds great, but do I really know what I'm talking about for bass sound.no. Great customer service as always.
