Take a Trip Back to Fender's Golden Era

Boasting decade-specific style and sound, the Fender Vintera II '60s Stratocaster evokes the company's golden era but with a modern-day twist. This solidbody electric guitar is brimming with decade-specific appointments, including a '60s "C"-shaped neck, a vintage-radius rosewood fingerboard, and vintage-style '60s single-coil Strat pickups — it's the next best thing to discovering a carefully preserved classic. You'll revel in the Vintera II '60s Strat's vintage-style tuning machines and vintage-style synchronized tremolo. You also get parchment plastic knobs and a 3-ply mint green pickguard for original-era aesthetics. A vintage-tinted neck and a vintage-inspired color round out the impressive Vintera II '60s Stratocaster.

Classic construction

Who says they don't build 'em like they used to? The Vintera II '60s Stratocaster boasts a contoured double-cutaway body carved from a solid slab of alder — the balanced-sounding tonewood whose acoustic tonal characteristics have fueled some of the more enduring recordings of modern-day music. This Strat's maple neck features an ultra-comfortable '60s "C" shape, and its 7.25-inch-radius rosewood fingerboard is laden with 21 vintage-tall frets.

Teeming with '60s-era tones

Once the Strat aficionados here at Sweetwater plugged the Fender Vintera II '60s Stratocaster in, no one could put it down. This solidbody electric guitar's vintage-style '60s single-coil Strat pickups boast Alnico V magnets, plain enamel wire, and staggered pole pieces. You'll appreciate the bite that these pickups add to the traditional spanky Stratocaster sound, and thanks to an RWRP middle pickup, you'll enjoy hum-free performance in positions two and four. You also get a tried-and-true complement of controls: a master volume knob, independent neck and middle pickup tone knobs, and modern 5-way switching.

Old-school hardware

You'll relish the careful thought Fender put into the Vintera II '60s Stratocaster's hardware. Its vintage-style tuning machines supply rock-solid tuning stability, and its 6-saddle, vintage-style synchronized tremolo with bent-steel saddles facilitates expressive bends, warbles, and dives. You also get parchment plastic control knobs and a 3-ply mint green pickguard to ensure a head-turning, period-accurate look.

  • Contoured double-cutaway alder body
  • Period-inspired '60s "C" shape offers extreme playing comfort

Why Buy Your Guitar from Sweetwater?

See how Sweetwater goes to great lengths to give you the very best online guitar buying experience. From our online Guitar Gallery that allows you to see and select the exact instrument you want to our 55-point Inspection process and our in-house guitar techs, we take the guesswork out of buying your next guitar online.

What is Demo Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call a "demo" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

What demo means to us is that we've had it out of the box, or maybe it was in a customer's hands for a few days and isn't "factory fresh" as a result. Every demo item we sell has Sweetwater's 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty, and has been tested and verified up to "new" specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it's in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

Note: While demo items from Fender do not include the Fender Musical Instruments Corporation warranty, you can shop with confidence knowing that this item is backed and covered by Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty.

When you buy a Demo item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

Best fender I ever purchased !!!

This Vintera II 60s Strat, is a Fantastic Strat its build quality is better then some USA Fenders and Gibsons I had over the years , plays easy love the 7.5 radius neck and it's 60's sound brings me back to that wonder surf music (I'm old) lol shout out to my new sales engineer Ian Haas great guy pleasure to work with I'll be buying again from him.
Music background: 40!years rocking Beatles and Beach boys tunes !

The "Stratiest" Sound of all my Strats!

I have 5 different Fender Strats and another 4 alternate brand Strats. I was worried about buying this one because I do not have a single 7.25 radius in my extensive collection and feared I wouldn't like it since I favor 12 inch over even 9.5. I was Wrong. I had it set up by a great luthier and while admittedly the action is a wee bit higher than my other strats, there is no issue with fretting out even on wicked bends. It plays fast and smooth and the neck feels great for my medium sized hand. Looks, feels, and plays like U.S. made. Something about these pick ups just sounds textbook strat. Stratier than all my others. Also looks just great. My wife keeps saying the pickguard looks like glass. My engineer, Matt Stockburger told me I made a great choice, and he was 100% correct! If you don't have a 7.25 get this one!

Great value.

Even with the price increase for the slab rosewood board, the Vintera series continues to be the best value in Fender guitars. Although this is a 60s model the neck feels full and fills the hand, neither slim nor chunky. It set up nicely and doesn't choke out on bends with medium action. Pickups are clear and strong and the tone controls are useful without getting muddy. There are no weak points on this guitar.
