I recently purchased a guitar, similar to a Stratocaster. I had to install all new electronics and Pick-ups. I lined the inside around the pick-ups and interior with shielding tape. There was a noise when I turned the volume off and was thinking of installing a different Pot, when I saw this metal piece that covers the switch and the 3 pots, and took a chance. The noise completely stopped, when I shut the volume off, and had no problems fitting it under the pick guard. Really quieted the pots and solved the problem. Thanks Sweetwater, your the best!!!

I put together a partscaster that would hum a bit if not turned away from the amp, especially with gain. The Emerson shield worked like a charm, dead quiet, even when right up on the amp. It may seems that $... is a lot for a little aluminum plate but worth more than that to quite a Strat down, even when not in hum cancelling positions.

Didn't really do anything.. But it was fun installing it. And I'll keep it in. It takes 5-10 minutes... But cool it you're a gear head... Go for it.. It's 10$
If you buy the pre wired sets you will be most pleased!
