Tiny Passive DI. Big Performance.

Radial's high-performance StageBug SB-2 passive DI delivers warm, vintage-flavored direct sound from your bass, keyboard, or acoustic guitar. The StageBug SB-2 is equipped with a custom Eclipse ET-DB3 transformer that impedance-matches and balances your signal, and also helps eliminate buzz and hum due to ground loops. This ultra-compact direct box handles high input levels with natural compression, and it's also equipped with a 15dB pad for extra-hot signals from active bass pickups, digital pianos, and the like. The StageBug SB-2 is a mono device; input a stereo signal on TRS, and the unit's convenient stereo-to-mono merge function saves you from having to reset your source to mono. At Sweetwater, we're quite taken with Radial's little StageBug SB-2. We think you will be, too.

Radial StageBug SB-2 Passive Direct Box Features:
  • Passive mono DI for bass, keyboards, and acoustic guitar
  • Smooths out peaks and warms up your tone
  • Ultra-compact, fits in your gig bag
  • Easy-to-use, plug-and-play feature set
  • 1/4" input, throughput to feed your amp
  • 15dB pad for extra-hot signals

Great Direct Box
Like the Direct Box,running the keyboard through the mixer and pass through amp it give a smooth well balanced sound while streaming online.
Awesome little box for keyboards
My go to DI for live keyboards. Protects my Nord from inadvertent phantom power finding its way to my outputs, sounds clean/true but chops off just enough of quick, sharp transients of bright piano sounds and what not to make them more pleasant at PA system volumes, and summing to mono through the SB2 leaves the signal significantly more intact than doing so via the Nord's inbuilt mono sum function. I carry two of them... if I need stereo I use both, if I need mono I just sum using one. A must have tool for any live keyboard player!
Bass
I've included this DI on a pedalboard chain for bass. It's completely isolated and very compact. Can fit anywhere. I even use it on live gigs. Although the power grid in our country is quite different than US or Canada, it still yields the best results and serves its purpose.

Radial StageBug SB-2
Sounds great, using it to pick up keys from the line out of his amp to go to my inears mixer, clean as a whistle, no distortion. Another benefit is the thru connector could be used as a second input, so I could merge 2 keyboards together in one DI if I had to for some reason.
Music background: Working musician since 1976...
Perfect
Reliable, simple, well-built, sounds good. These are our go-to for basic DI applications, so we keep several around in our rental/production inventory. There are cheaper and pricier options, but these hit the spot. Love that they also sum on the two 1/4" jacks, so we use them with a 3.5mm to dual-TS cable for laptops/iPods.
