The S8-3WAY eight channel three way microphone splitter is ideal for live sound, recording and broadcast applications where microphone and XLR balanced line level input signals have to go to multiple mix locations. Typical uses would include sending 8 mic- or line-level direct signals through the S8-3WAY to a main Front-of-house mixer, with additional feeds going to a monitor mix station while transformer balanced isolated feeds are sent to remote recording desk or used for a broadcast feed.

I/O and other features
Each channel provides one XLR input, one XLR direct output with two additional transformer isolated XLR outputs for a total of 3 balanced outputs from each single XLR mic- or line-level input signal. The ART S8-3WAY features the same high-quality musical-sounding transformers used in the popular ART S8, and is housed in a standard 1U space rackmountable steel chassis designed for years of reliable operation. Since the S8-3WAY can solve so many problems, the rack ears are reversible, letting you choose which side of the S8-3WAY you want facing you in your rack.

This piece of gear was exactly what the doctor order for the aplication. Splitting the signal to both PA & to my DAW to record live & the musicians hearing everything out of the PA. Big thanks to Jordan my sales engineer for suggesting it!

A GREAT affordable Microphone Splitter. Perfect for use with small consoles when only a few inputs are needed. I own two and have two Mackie onyx 1640i's One for FOH and 1 for Monitors. Works great no noise.

I bought this splitter after seeing another band use it to split off for their in-ear setup. Simple and straight forward. Wish that one of the rear outputs would also pass phantom power, but otherwise, I'll be adding another in the future.

We use this in a venue house setup to split signals for monitor/FOH and to send a signal to a group that are recording a radio show with their own equipment. Works perfectly.

Art usually makes pretty decent and affordable gear, and this unit works fine when not racked next to anything powered; but when it is racked next to anything powered (such as an interface or power conditioner, etc) you will get about a 15% 60 Cycle Hum in your signal chain. Essentially, I was hoping to use this unit in my live in-ear monitor rack to split signals between the interface and the directs outs for the Sound Engineer, but it needed to fit snug between four wireless transmitters, an interface and a power conditioner. Bittersweetly, other forums online revealed this issue to me, so I verified the issue by pulling the unit in and out of the rack while running, and the hum followed suit each time I brought it near the rack. The only other common complaint is that Phantom Power doesn't seem to pass through the isolated outs in the back. In closing, this could be a great unit if Art is able to add some shielding, as well as phantom pass-through, but could work okay for passive 3-way splitting outside of a powered rack.
