Improved design

The K&M Spider Pro is an improved design over the original. The greater tilt angle of the upper tier makes playing multiple keyboards easier and more comfortable. The keyboard arms on both tiers are also telescoping to ensure a secure fit no matter the depth of your keyboard. These additions make the Spider Pro extremely versatile for every situation.

Functionality and expandability

Keyboard rigs are becoming more complicated and varied in the digital age, you need a stand that can keep up. With the flexibility of the K&M Spider Pro you can easily add a third tier of arms for that new synth you have your eye on. Eliminate the mic stand in your set up by using the boom stand threaded insert and attaching the mic directly to the Spider Pro. There is even an add-on laptop accessory to mount your computer directly on the Spider Pro.

Reviews

well worth the price extremely great stand
love this stand its great. can put 2 keyboards on it and is awesome. I can fit a 88 key keyboard a iPad and a hammond skx on the stand and I believe I can add another their might not add that their, but this stand can take more weight on it than expected. love the angle on the top key stand and the portability is awesome. Well worth the price. Only issue I have had with this stand is the mic boom attachment is horrible you would be better off with just a separate mic stand.

Good looking stand.
I am struck by how graceful this stand looks when set up. Makes me feel like a rock star. Despite its considerable weight, however, it is still too wiggly for my taste. Nevertheless, I am going to keep it. Sets up in a flash. Provides excellent wiring channels for hiding cables. The accessory carrying bag is pretty good. The accessory bag should be made from a little heavier material, but is good enough.

I was considering the accessory laptop tray but it just makes the whole thing too tall.

I am using an 88 key weighted controller from Studiologic, and an Access Virus keyboard. The specifications say that you can have 35 kilograms on each tier (77 lbs. per tier). Maybe you can get away with it, but I would not put this kind of weight on this stand.

I will let you know my additional thoughts after I gig with it this weekend.
Absolutely Worth It
Yes, there are all kinds of keyboard stands out there and the Spider comes in at several times the cost of most. Even so, it so beautiful and so well made, it's absolutely worth the price. I'm a weekend warrior musician doing 40 gigs a year. I needed a keyboard stand that could solidly hold an 88-key weighted board (Roland Fantom 08) without wobbling, that transported easily in one-piece and was fast set-up and break-down. The Spider checks all of those boxes. And it looks SO GOOD! Great job K&M.
Love this stand!
I recently purchased this Spider stand because my previously used stand was struggling with a new 52-pound keyboard (it had all it could do to not tip over). I used the Spider for the first time on a gig recently and it was great. Quick setup and no worries about tipping...a Kurzweil K2700 on the bottom and a Hammond XK-4 on top.

Terrific stand, plus great service from Sweetwater!
Music background: I play mostly regional live shows, plus some studio gigs.
Best keyboard stand on Planet Earth
Strong, stable, portable, expansion options = quality everywhere. The reviews out here nail it.

With 2 tiers, it goes in its K&M gig bag quickly because 2 tiers folds into the channels of the aluminum body. I sprayed some orange paint on the top of my bag so I could tell the small end of the bag on a dark stage during breakdown. I also used nail polish to make dots to indicate my tier positions for fast and consistent setup.

I bought Velcro patches to put on the side of the main aluminum beam for cable management. Then I cut from a 12' roll of Velcro strip/wraps to have easy cable management. K&M should do that from the factory. I know there are cable management clips which I use but Velcro strip/wraps make it faster and more serviceable.

If you go 3 tiers, you have to fold the legs first, and then slide the tiers to fold down to about 20 degrees. It still fits in the K&M gig bag but better off with a drum accessory bag. Longer Velcro strip/wraps also hold the 3 tiers in place during breakdown.

I also use the laptop stand on top. It is very stable and worth every penny.

I did see a Finnish band called "Nightwish" on YouTube that uses a 15 degree arm set upside-down for his bottom 88 key and his 0 degree on top so he can keep standing throughout his performance. I'll have to test how he mounts his angle tier upside-down.

This is a great long term investment.
