A Powerful Arsenal of Guitar Tone

Do you want to plug in and rock? Or maybe you like tweaking parameters until you’ve dialed in the perfect sound. Either way, the Line 6 Spider V 60 MkII has something to offer every player — it can conjure up nearly any tone you can imagine. The Spider V 60 MkII offers several advantages over its predecessor, including Classic Speaker mode, which puts the organic feel of a traditional guitar amp at your fingertips, and Artist and Iconic Song presets, which provide real-deal building blocks for your own signature tone. Whether you’re into raging metal, ambient soundscapes, or chiming pop, plug into the Spider V 60 MkII — there’s a universe of guitar tone waiting.

Killer presets for any occasion

The Line 6 Spider V 60 MkII is loaded with a full arsenal of presets. The quality of the presets has been vastly improved when compared to the Spider V 60 MkII’s predecessor — their modeled amp characteristics, such as compression qualities and EQ curves, have been dialed in better than ever before. What’s more, Line 6 brought in high-profile artists to help develop additional presets. This gives you spot-on Artist and Iconic Song presets, not to mention a whole bevy of classic amp presets. With over 200 killer presets — and an intuitive, color-coded control set, the Spider V 60 MkII makes it quick and easy to nail the perfect tone.

Full-range speaker system

No conventional guitar amp, Line 6 spec'd the Spider V 60 MkII with a full-range speaker system that includes a custom-designed guitar speaker plus a high-frequency driver. The benefit here is that your amp will sound fantastic with not only electric and acoustic guitars, modeled amps, and effects — but you can also plug in a full mix and hear it in high fidelity. Want to go old school? No problem. The Spider V 60 MkII’s Classic Speaker mode automatically shuts off its high-frequency driver and cab/mic modeling, yielding an organic sound and feel that seemed comfortable and familiar to the traditional-minded guitarists here at Sweetwater when we ran it through its paces.

Useful extras you'll appreciate

Line 6 packed their Spider V MkII amps with useful extras that you'll appreciate — and rely on. With the Spider V 60 MkII, you'll take performance and practice to the next level. Its built-in wireless receiver accommodates a Relay G10 transmitter (sold separately), enabling you to cut the cord. Maintain perfect tuning with the onboard tuner. Sharpen your time with a built-in metronome. Craft a layered performance with a 60-second looper. And get into the groove by playing along with pro-quality drum loops. All in, Line 6's Spider V MkII amps are the best Spiders ever — and they offer tremendous value. You need one.

Reviews

Great little amp
I'm tired of petals and cables. This amp makes it easy to find endless amounts of great tones without petals, cables or power supplies. The built in tuner is awesome. I live in an RV on the road and it fits perfectly in my spot
Music background: I just want to play like Jerry Garcia
It Rocks
It's been many years since I played in a Rock band. Having recently picked up the guitar again, I read reviews on this amp and decided to give it a go. After having used it some now, I have decided that it's the best little amp I have ever personally owned. Sure, I've played through bigger but I never owned them. I especially like that I can lay down tracks directly from the amp to my DAW. Worth every penny. Yes, I would recommend it.
Music background: Started playing again a couple years ago after a 40 year retirement.
Small but complete!
I have been performing with its big brother, the Line 6 Spider V 120w MkII, for several years now. I love the Line 6 Spider MKII amps - they have just about every effect built in, a metronome and tuner, they are easy to use, and they are durable. I customized many banks of preset sounds to cover a wide range of songs. I love plugging my laptop into the amp and actually seeing how the amp simulates a string of effect pedals. On stage I route the amp output to the FOH PA. The way I like to do that turns off the Line 6 speaker but gives me access to all my presets (audio engineer likes less stage volume from backline amps). But I got tired of carrying the 120w to every rehearsal and back again, so I decided to leave the 120w in our rehearsal room and buy an amp to use at home. The Line 6 Spider V 60w was the clear choice because it enabled me to export all my customized sound banks from the 120w and import them into the 60w. So now the presets are identical, which is important when I am learning a new song and experimenting with effects. I discovered the 60w has the volume and fullness (at a light weight) to be my traveling amp for many occasions. And because all my presets are in the 60w, and I route the amp output to a PA, I can play at larger venues without relying on the power of the amp and its speakers. Why not go light? I am very satisfied with the Line 6 Spider MKII amps and impressed with the 60w.
Music background: Lifetime musician playing guitar, bass and Latin percussion across a range of genres.
The Awesome Line 6 V60 Mkii Guitar Amp with Line 6 FBV 3 Foot Controller
I purchased the Line 6 Spider V60 Mkii guitar amp along with the Line 6 FBV 3 Foot Controller (Pedal Board) from Sweetwater on November 1st, 2024. After using it at home and in band rehearsal for several weeks I have to say it is the coolest guitar amp that I've ever owned.

I really like all the features including the built in Metronome, Looper, and Drum Loops, which are excellent features for practice. The Metronome includes a separate volume adjustment and provides 5 different modes including Block, Cowbell, Hi Hat, Sticks, and Thwack. The Drum Loops include a volume adjustment and provide 19 different loop types including Rock Groove, Swing Beat, Trashy Rock, Funk Beats, Slow Rock, Blues Groove, Kick Beats, Monster Beat, Metal Beats, Blues Shuffle, Half Time Rock, Highway Rock, Grunge Jam, Two Step, Austin Rockin, Fast Rock, Pasedena Rock, Power Funk, and Punk Rock.

It also has a Demo Riff mode, which plays 5 different styles of guitar music including Classic, Clean, Heavy, and Jazz. The Demo Riff mode enables you to move through all 128 built in presets to quickly hear how they sound. This make it easy to zoom in on which preset you want to use for a certain song.

The 60 Watt amp sounds great through the 10" speaker and also includes a tweeter, which is used in Full Range Speaker Mode. One of the things that first impressed me about this amp is how great it sounds with an acoustic guitar. This is due to Full Range Speaker Mode, which is optimized for acoustic guitars and jam tracks. Most of the presets for Electric Guitar use Classic Speaker Mode, which provides the organic amp-to-speaker tone and feel that guitarist are accustomed to hearing from a classic guitar amp. That being said, the amp provides the user the option to use either Classic or Full Range Mode for any Preset.

The amp includes 78 different amp models including classic Marshall, Vox, Mesa/Boogie, Fender, Gibson, Bogner, Orange, Soldano, and many other amps. It includes 23 Speaker Cabinet models including Gibson, Fender, Vox, Roland, Marshall, Mesa, and others. It includes 4 Cab Mics including Shure, Sennheiser, and Neumann. It provides 101 Effects Models including 24 Modulations, 8 Dynamics, 10 Distortions, 14 Delays, 15 Filter/Synths, 13 Reverbs, 8 Wahs, 1 Four Band Equalizer, a very accurate built-in Tuner, and a Noise Gate. You can use up to 8 effects at once.

The amp has a built in wireless receiver and in addition to being a great practice amp as discussed above, it also puts out plenty of sound for gigs in small venues. The 1/8" stereo headphone jack can also be set from the front panel menu as a line out TRS jack to connect to a mixer and/or PA System. I have 2 Electro-Voice Evolve 30M PA Systems rated at 1000 watts each. I use the stereo line out of the Spider V60 to drive my 2 EV 30M PA Systems to provide a beautiful stereo output at high power, very capable of filling any large venue.

Another awesome feature provided is the amp has 2 USB ports on the back, Port A for connecting to an iPhone or iPad, and Port B for connecting to a Mac or PC computer or an Android phone or Tablet. The USB ports provide 4 important functions. a) By using the free Spider Remote software application and connecting your phone, tablet, or computer via USB you can edit and manage the amp presets. Although you can also edit presets from the amp front panel, it's much easier to do it using the Spider Remote software application. In addition, you can search and download presets created by other Spider V users from the Cloud and then save these direct to a preset in your amp or store them in your "My Tones" Library. In addition, if you are connected to your computer you can Backup or Restore your amp Presets. b) You can use the USB connection with your phone, tablet, or computer to update the Firmware in your amp as Line 6 makes Firmware updates available. c) If you connect the amp to your Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) on your Computer, Phone, or Tablet the amp will act a sound card, which enables you to record your guitar using any of the presets in your amp. Since the amp is acting as a sound card for your DAW recording device there is no latency like you generally experience with a DAW Plug-in. For playback and/or dubbing you can listen through the amp speaker or as I prefer connect the line out (headphone jack set as line out) of the amp directly to your studio monitors. This works great and in my opinion is one of the coolest amp features. d) You can play music from your phone, tablet, or computer via the USB connection through your amp speaker. The Full Range Mode provided by the amp in this case provides good quality sound although it will be mono. There is also an Auxiliary Audio Input on the back of the Amp for running MP3 players or other audio sources directly (unprocessed) into the amplifier's speakers.

Although it's not required for any of the above features, I also purchased the Line 6 FBV 3 Foot Controller which connects to the Spider V amp via a RJ-45 (Ethernet cable) connection on the back of the amp. This next-generation foot controller gives you total hands-free control of the amp and effects. With the FBV 3, you can change presets, bypass/enable effects, use the looping function, access the built in Tuner, Tap in the tempo for time-based effects to follow, and control volume and Wah effects.

I've has a blast with this amp since I purchased it and as I stated in the beginning, I consider the Line 6 Spider V60 Mkii along with the Line 6 FBV 3 Foot Controller to be the best guitar amplifier I've ever used or owned.
Music background: Guitar Player (hobby), Next Gen Jammers (trio)
Fantastic small amp
The Spider V mk ii 60w is packed with features and effects, is a plenty loud, and is a really great sounding amp if you tweek it. I set the speaker mode to Classic, and disable the cabinet modeling. This disables the tweeter and basically turns it into a straightforward 1x10 transistor amp. I was never thrilled with the modeled amp sounds using the tweeter. Now I love it. The Deluxe amp model has a rich full tone. Im thinking of upgrading the generic 40w 4-ohm speaker to a Celestion G10 Creamback 8-ohm.
Its also a very attractive amp, IMO. I play vintage alternative and rock, jazz, and 50s country with it, FYI.
